    Jessica Capshaw's daughter

The actress who plays Arizona on Grey's Anatomy delivered a baby girl today and her name is Poppy James Gavigan.

Don't like James as a middle name for a girl...

Me neither. Poppy is cute, but James? It's not as bad as Maxwell Drew, in fact Poppy James actually sounds quite cute. But names like James being used for girls bothers me a lot more than names like Jayden or Parker being used for girls. I don't understand at all why a classic boys name could all of the sudden be considered for a girl.

I don't get it either. Leave James for the boys. And Poppy is cute, but it's too cute - it's in the same 'cutesy' category as Maisie, Daisy and Honey.

I love it . . . But I'm a sucker for cute as a button names like Hattie, Maisie and Poppy (at least in theory ). I'm of a similar opinion as the previous posters (in general) about classic boy names on girls. However, I don't really mind them in the middle. Poppy James is WAY more feminine than James Poppy (and Maxwell Drew for that matter). I think that those of us that don't prefer this trend of traditional boy names on girls are quick to judge . . . Maybe it's a family name or has some other signifigance? Either way I think the name works.
