I hate names of people I personally do not like (think Jessica who stole my HS BF, Hilary who is a raging B*()& and others ...)! Otherwise, I kind of scratch my head and wonder what some people were thinking when they looked at their beautiful newborn and bestowed upon it a name that was either ugly (to my ears) like "Enid" or a name that ever other baby in the hospital has been named! I do not look over the 1000th name but why would you want your kid to be one of 20 in a school with that name?

lol...I'm just sitting here smiling (and totally unoffended, because everyone is entitled to their tastes
) at how many times the name Olive came up on some lists. This was a name that I really loved when I first heard it, it's on my signature. Ever since finding out we were pregnant, I haven't been stuck on anything either way, but I'm still considering the name. Anyway, I just thought that was funny to hear such opposite opinions. I'm not a fan of Scarlett either, and noticed that was another one that showed up on a number of lists. Too funny.
Pregnant with our first, due 1/5/13!
We've been considering: Jonah Finn or Finn Isaac and Olive Rose (however lately I haven't been too attached to any names, but there's time, I'm not going to stress)

What happened to teaching kiddos the difference between "dislike" and "hate?" The whole "hate is a strong word" thing... you know?
Cannot stand, really don't like, find obnoxious, wouldn't name a hamster... but hate?

i dont like the word hate, i feel words like 'hate' and 'love' should be used rarely and honestly! but those are semantics lol and not worth getting up in arms about!
names i dont particularly like are
Sloane (it has always been a boys name to me and even then it was still a mix of slug and moan!)
Silas (i dontk now why just dont)
Lucas (luke kiss is what i see)
Kai (i live in new zealand where maori words are quite common and spread around and used and kai means 'food' in maori. it is common in new zealand to say "lets go get some kai!" or "i could do with some kai!" etc so no to Kai!!!
Oliver (the liver part)
Jeremy (germy)
Norman (morman)
Evangeline (so religious!)
Bree (brie the cheese)
Victoria (I hear the victory part too strongly)
Clementine (whaaat? sounds horrible, reminds me or congested throat or a lozenge designed to decongest throats! see this is all just MY head nothing to be taken personally as i have strange impressions clearly!)
Olive (i love olives! i am pregnant and constantly craving olives! cannot imagine name my child olive! ever!)
Sadie (the sadist?)
Tallulah (i call my lady parts tallulah belle jokingly lol! would be awful if i name my kid this!)
there are others that will come back to me!
names that have been mentioned as disliked on here that i DO like are
Sarah (i'm 18 and not actually many Sarahs around! it has a pretty sound i think)
Imogen (my cousin is Imogen, we pronounce it Imm Oh Gin i think a lot of the names mentioned depend a lot on accent and how different they are pronounced in different accents. someone mentioned it being pronounced 'imm oh jeen' which i do NOT like the sound of!
i like some 'iana' names. Juliana is lovely.
Audrey to me feels like it would age a lot better than Aubrey i dont mind either but dislike how similar they are and can imagine a dyslexic child having a lot of trouble!
it is funny how names are so subjective! and also how when i meet another Kaitlyn or Caitlyn or whatever my heart never sinks or i dont feel dislike i find people grow into and suit there names and give the name its own 'flavour' if that makes sense? on their own i can easily dislike names. Atticus for example! but i believe if i MET an Atticus i would find they suited the name if you get what im trying to say?
being pregnant i find it a bit of a mindfield with names, what sounds great to me could sound AWFUL to someone else, when on baby naming websites i do try to be careful with what i say about names knowing emotional pregnant woman can be easily offended (as i have been!) on Nameberry though it seems a lot of people arent actually pregnant yet and therefore i come here to get a more rough subjective view than i would on a specific baby naming forum on part of a pregnancy site! here i feel i can put out a name and get honest responces not people 'trying to be nice' and its also good to know that there is a DEFINATE to each their own thing going on. if i really loved the name Rowena and everyone disliked it yes i would rethink it but i have learnt that people on here have suggested things I havent liked either and so you will almost always get a mixed responce! unless someone on here said Jaxyn.... haha but the point i'm trying to say is there is a lot of good constructive feedback on here!
