Your Favourite Boy Name And Why?

You get to see so many people's favourites on here but I'm interested in why you berries love your boy names!

I love classic and vintage names and sometimes find it hard to see why Mason is so popular or why there are lots of Braydens about. So for me- I love William. It sounds strong, handsome, English and classic and it ages well. But what makes you so crazy about your top boy name?!

Our favorite is Ezra. I find it hard to like boy names and this is the only one I really like. It just jumped out at me and I like the way it sounds.

I love River because it sounds so free spirited and happy. It also just has a bunch of personal meaning for me.

My favorite is Henry. It goes well with a family name for me and it's a name that I find appropriate for all ages (baby Henry, Henry in middle school, Uncle Henry, grandpa Henry...), plus it's a classic name, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, and is popular but not too popular (as in, I've never met a Henry nor do I know of people naming any of their babies around me Henry).

To actually use: I like Roy - I think it's warm, friendly, and unassuming (maybe a little like Ron in Harry Potter, but without having to be short for Ronald) and it has family connections.

That I feel like I can't use but someone else should: Cary - I think it's a strong, handsome, and classic name that's a good candidate to contradict the theory that traditionally male names are cute on little girls but anything that has ever come close to being a female name is deeply humiliating for a little boy. I probably wouldn't name a child after myself though.

Completely out of left field: Bertram - I'm not sure how well it would work in the real world, but I think it has a really appealing sound. It's the kind of name that a sexy foreigner could make sound exotic and cool, but your baby could end up hating you for.

Henry is my top pick right now.

My favorite boy name has been my favorite since I was a little girl - Tristan. I think it's a lovely choice - classic and yet I don't feel it is overused. I simply love the sound of it. While my interest in other names has fluctuated quite drastically, that name has stayed steadfast.

My love of the name originated from my parents who have liked it since the 1970s (and may have named me that had I been a boy). They first heard it on the TV show "All Creatures Great and Small." They later bought me DVDs of the show and I was always smitten with Peter Davison's character - the lovable troublemaker Tristan Farnon.

My favorite is Elliot. It's handsome, and it's familiar but not overly popular. And I have so many good associations with the name.

My favorite is Price, it just sounds so handsome and a "gentleman" like which I love. I honestly can't see myself NOT using Price since I've loved it for so long.

My favorite is Caleb.

I love how approachable, down-to-earth, and sensitive Caleb is. I love how Caleb could be anything from a violin virtuoso to a construction worker to a professor to a youth pastor and just about anything in between, and I can see Caleb working well from when he's a newborn until he's a grandpa (or even great-grandpa!). I love the connection to the Biblical Caleb, as well--he was a spy, a warrior (into his eighties!), and his heart was completely for God and God alone. I would love to pass his legacy onto my son. Caleb just sounds like a loving sunshine boy and good-hearted warrior, all in one. I just adore it. I can't imagine loving anything more than I love Caleb.
