June 19th, 2012 08:52 PM #11Mother of three teenagers: (1) Daniel Glen, (2) Timothy Austin, and (3) Rebecca Jane... all middle names honor family... 3rd generation mn Jane. (A second girl would have been Susanna Eve and a third boy, maybe Isaac...)

Jack. I have always adored the name, when I was 2 my grandma gave me a baby doll, she asked me what I wanted to name her... I promptly said "Grandma! It's a boy, not a girl! His name is Jack!". So it was set...a baby Jack would be mine. My other favorites have come and gone but Jack has always been THE one.
I love how Jack grows with a baby to a boy and to a man. To me it conjures up a cool, friendly, handsome boy and a stable and happy and still cool man. Honestly I couldn't care less about it's popularity, our son could be one of 50 Jack's in his class and I wouldn't love it any less.
Only one thing has always worried me...will I ever find a boy name that I love half as much for the other baby boy...
I hope my little Jack August Hopper loves his name as much as I do.Last edited by peakaboo; September 20th, 2012 at 09:36 AM.
Our babies Jack August Hopper, Hugo Thackeray Fox and Emmeline "Milly" Amelia Story were born on the 15th of July 2012. We can't believe how far they have come!

My boy's list changes a lot but I always find myself coming back to these 3:
Asher - I just love the sound, it's cool and edgy with real roots and the nickname Ash is just awesome. I'm just not sure if I could bring myself to use it, it's skyrocketing in popularity.
Morgan - Always loved this name for a boy. It's strong and has a magical, almost haunting image. I usually don't care about the gender of names, but with a daughter named Rowan everyone would assume Morgan was a girl. I still might use it regardless though.
Judah - I just love the strong yet sensitive image I get from this name. It sounds ancient and modern all at once. I probably won't use it though, my husband thinks it's too religious. And it's also becoming pretty popular. My cherished daughter, Rowan Jane. ~b. 10/2011~

This is out of left field for me, but I've got a crush on the boy name Bram at the moment.
Not sure that it's useable for a non-Jewish person, though. (?)

My favorite boys' name right now (for a while) has been August. I love its' simplicity, the classic feel of the name, but that it's underused. I also absolutely adore the NN Gus. August is a name that feels like it could be worn by a lawyer, a king, a painter, a musician, a politician... and Gus is the nickname that for me ties it in to all age groups. You could have a little boy or teen Gus, and transition to August as he gets older. I think it ages well.
Second is Henry, although I worry more about the popularity of Henry going up. Henry is a little cuter for my taste, but again, I could see a man named Henry holding almost any job, and it doesn't necessarily need a nickname but there's the possibility of Hank, which I also love. Plus this has the bonus of being an old family surname for me, so switching it to the first place would be a cool way of honoring my heritage.Currently Loving:
♥ August, Henry, Dodge, Revere
♥ Mabel, Lilith, Leona, Avis, Zelda

Right now it's Roscoe. I've seen this name tossed around baby boards in the past and it didn't really appeal to me, but I recently took a closer look and realize that I absolutely LOVE it. It has the -o ending I adore, as well as a very cool rockstar vibe. It works perfectly with the middle name Jack -- Roscoe Jack! -- and I can see it on anyone from a newborn to an old man, a janitor to a senator. I also love the way it looks written down. My only concern is potential "Rocco" or "Rocky" nns...
