Question New to nameberry, would like suggestions

    Hello All,
I'm new to nameberry--not pregnant or TTC (for now, anyway. I do plan on starting a family in the next few years). I'm just a long-time namer. I have been lurking for a while and thought I would post.

Here is my boy long list. My style is all over the board, so I just grouped them in alphabetical order. I am basically posting because I am looking for more suggestions. I don't have a boy name that I am in love with right now.

P.S. Some of these names I wouldn't use for various reasons (popularity, pronunciation confusion, ect.), but I have included them so you can get a sense of my taste in names.

    Thanks in advance!

    Bowen
Cadence (too girly? heard it for a middle name on a little boy and loved it)
    Christian
    Connor
David (love this, too bad it is an ex's name)
Elisha (will people think it's pronounced Al-ee-sha on paper or Elijah out loud?)
    Ezra (Growing on my lately)
    Finley
    Finn
Foster (Love this at the moment)
Gideon (My top pick for a while now. Have never met one or even heard of one until a few days ago)
    Grey
    Immanuel
    Israel
    Joaquin
    Justice
    Lachlan
    Leland
    Liam
Micah (I am afraid people will see Micah and automatically think girl, even though to me it's a boys name)
    Pele
Peter (Really growing on me, but I am afraid "Peeta" from the Hunger Games may possible cause a rise in popularity of Peter)
    Tripp
    Seamus
    Tanner
Wesley "Wes" (LOVE short and spunky name and nicknames)

I love the suggestion of Forrest and I think Callum could really grow on me.

Bowen -- different, yet easily spelled and pronounced, so I like it

Cadence -- I think this is far too girly, in my opinion

Christian -- I've always liked the look of it, but I feel like it's kind of hard to say clearly

Connor -- very nice, and my favorite thus far

David -- meh, boring compared to everything else on your list

Elisha -- growing up in a small-town Protestant church, I never questioned whether this could get mispronounced, but I suppose your concerns are valid...still, I like it...but yeah, I could see this turning into Alicia

Ezra -- nice Old Testament choice without any confusion, and the sound of it would fit in well with today's generation

Finley -- prefer Phineas or Phinehas

Finn -- this is nice, but very nicknamey

Foster -- ooh, nice, I really like the sound of this

Gideon -- my friend used to talk about this name when we were growing up, so to me it's boring now

Grey -- a personal favorite, so sleek and it would age well

Immanuel -- does nothing for me

Israel -- I have always liked this

Joaquin -- I hate this name because of pronunciation versus spelling

Justice -- looks too much like Justine for me, and sounds too much like Justin (and I know the rudest Justin)

    Lachlan -- interesting

Leland -- LOVE this, another favorite

    Liam -- too popular!

Micah -- totally a boy name, and a good one at that

    Pele -- huh?

Peter -- this is in our top five! I love the Biblical association for a man and the nursery rhyme association for a baby (Peter Piper)

Tripp -- I think trippy, as in drugs

    Seamus -- I think semen

Tanner -- I knew a lovely little Tanner about ten years ago...he was about six...I like the name now, but at the time I thought of tanning hides

Wesley "Wes" -- bad association that even The Princess Bride can't undo...I will always think of a crude, backwoods hick

    Suggestions you might like:

I really like Isaiah, but like a lot of my other names, I don't think I would use it due to it's popularity. Locke is an interesting suggestion, I think I like it.
