In Need of (Yet More) Help

I'm still using the character from my "Artsy Names" thread (http://nameberry.com/nametalk/thread...05-Artsy-Names) but I need some advice/suggestions. The plot revolves around this girl going to boarding school. Her dad is a person you see pretty regularly in the media, and that's what I need help with: what occupation should I put the father in? I thought about senator, but I though senator with boarding school have already been done. I also thought about newscaster but that seems kind of cheesy to me. What job could you see this character in?

Also, I love all the artsy name suggestions, but I'm wondering- should I give my protagonist a more traditional name, considering her father's rich and traditional enough to send her to boarding school? What would you do?

Thanks so much for all the help, and sorry I keep changing my mind!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've decided on the name Bridget and I know the story will be set in L.A. but I'm still stuck on a job for her father. Any more ideas?
