I'm pretty sure a ton of people are saying the same thing, but I say for sure, Agnes is beautiful. She has nicknames and she's a classic. I like what one person said that all old ladies were little girls at one time. Very true, I don't know why some people don't see that. I'm totally forgetting your combos because I'm on the fourth page, but I think it's really cool how much thought you put into it, and I agree that it would mean a lot to your future daughter. I know I would love my name a lot more if my mom had any other reason than 'I liked the name at the time.' I know on nameberry a lot of people support out-of-the-box names and then it's different in real life, but seriously, if I ever met a little girl named Agnes in real life, I think it'd be awesome.

I don't think Agnes is too old at all. Here in Sweden, Agnes is #15 on the name charts and is firmly established in the top 20. There's also a Swedish singer called Agnes.

Personally dislike it. I don't like old lady names. I think they are difficult to carry as a child.

I love love love Agnes! I've been crushing on it lately, too! I think it's got such darling vintage charm, and I love the nn Aggie!
I don't think it's too old-lady-ish at all. After seeing that movie Despicable Me, seeing a little Agnes running around made it a lot fresher to me, and I've loved it ever since.

I much prefer Agatha nn Aggie to Agnes :/ I can picture Agnes on a very little girl or very old woman, but nothing inbetween. Agatha on the other hand, I can picture at any age. Agatha fits your other names much better too. If I saw sibset of Isabelle, Hannah, Rachel and Agnes I would think Agnes was very much out of place. Sorry.

lol, Violet isn't the problem. It's firmly set as a FN on my top 4. I just really liked it as a MN for Agnes, as well, and I loved that it honored even more family than Agnes would. I do like Agnes, but not so much as a MN, I feel like I'd be hiding it away, you know? Besides, I have several other was to honor my mom--I've honored her about 5 times on my boys' and girls' lists, put together, haha. For now, I think Agnes is off the table but I'll keep an eye on it in the coming years, to see if it gains any more love. I wouldn't be surprised if it does grow in popularity in five years' time!

I'm really not a fan of the ag sound in Agnes or Agatha but Jennifer Connelly's little girl is really cute and I do like Lark a lot, but I thought of her daughter when you suggested the combo. I do really really like Lark though, I can't help it! Because of positive associations with Agnes because I do like Jennifer Connelly.. I'm kind of changing my mind on it. I wouldn't use it, personally, but my hatred for it is diminishing, haha.
