Name suggestions
Hi everyone! My name is Catherine, I go by Kate though. My husband Josiah and I have 8 children. We are expecting twins and, so far, have managed to keep the genders a surprise. I have lurked here for a while but I decided today to just go ahead and join
All of our children have two middle names so that tradition will continue. Can you offer some suggestions you think we might like? So far our only idea is Linus but we are afraid that is too close to Silas.

& anxiously awaiting two more miracles!

Congratulations! Your children's names are lovely. You've done a wonderful job with the 3-name combos. And I love the name Silas, because I have a brother named Silas! And I have a brother named Josiah!
For boys, I started thinking of names similar to Silas and Linus (I love a lot of boys' names ending in S):
Barnabas (my third brother--why not have all three?
)
Tobias
Lucius (someone on another forum suggested Lucius and Uri for twin boys; both names mean "light." They've been sort of a guilty pleasure twinset in my mind since then. I love the idea but I don't know if the name Uri would actually work.)
Phineas
Darius
But Franklin, your second son's name, has a very different style, to my ear--something like:
Oliver
Gordon
Lewis
Albert (these last four names are in my family tree)
Alfred
Arnold
Elmer
(I think I would have suggested Arthur, too, but you already used it in Franklin's name!)
My favorite ideas for a twin boy set right now are the names Ransom and Jack (both would honor author C.S. Lewis, and they both have a sort of swashbuckling feel); and the idea of using two names from the Old Testament prophets, the ones that "go together" when you recite the books of the Bible:
Isaiah & Jeremiah
Ezekiel & Daniel
Hosea & Joel (one of my favorites)
Amos & Obadiah
Jonah & Micah
Zechariah & Malachi
Boys' names are easier for me! For girls, I think some of the names on my "Dream List" would go nicely with your daughters' names:
Alice
Jessamyn/Jessamine
Evangeline (maybe too matchy with Emmeline)
Adelaide
Carolina
Clara
Katherine
Marguerite/Margaret
Do you like any of these? I can work on some combinations if you like any of these as firsts or middles.
Best wishes!"He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names."
Psalm 147:4
Shaking things up a bit:
Robin Maccabee ~ Bartholomew Prentice ~ Viggo Matthias
Elnora Fairlight ~ Narcissa Rose ~ Sylvie Magdalen
Triples for fun:
Lucian Barnaby Reuel ~ Gillian Mary Lavinia ~ William Wythe Taliesin ~ Viola Guinevere Loveday ~ George Wystan Llyr

Congrats on 9 and 10. That's quite a blessing. I'm expecting #1, but I grew up in a large family and love them.
