Lucille nn Lucy or just Lucy?!?

    Hi berries!

I have recently fallen in love with the name Lucy for a little girl. I love how sweet and innocent, yet grown-up (IMO) the name feels. My question today is would you name her Lucille and call her Lucy or just name her Lucy? I think I am leaning towards just Lucy, but I just wanted some other opinions!

Also, what do you think of Lucy Clementine? I am trying to find a middle name that isn't as common as Lucy is ... any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Megan

Love it! Lucy is one of my favorite girl names and Clementine pairs with it so well. It sounds fresh and sweet! I personally prefer Lucy to Lucille, especially with your choice of middle name.

I think Lucy works just fine on its own... but then again, I don't like Lucille.
I'm a Lucia who goes mostly by Lucy and I love having the option of both (especially when it comes to travelling), but I think Lucy is just fine as a stand-alone name and I love it.
I don't care for Clementine either, sorry. My mn is Vivian, which I love.

I think Lucy is a beautiful, sweet name. It doesn't need to be elongated- it's lovely just as it is. Besides, I find Lucille pretty dated. And I like Lucy with Clementine- I think it's kind of like a hidden gem. Here are some other MNs that I think fit you're criteria, although they're a little bit all over the place as far as style goes:

    Fleur
    Paloma
    Evangeline
    Blythe
    Arden
    Elsbeth
    Wilhemina

I would go just Lucy, I agree if feels fresh and fun but also transitions well to the grown up world. I do like the originality of Clementine and how it flows with Lucy, so all in all I think Lucy Clementine in a great name!

I like Lucy as the formal name. We never see Lucille anymore and I like Lucy way better.

I much prefer Lucy on it's own over Lucille. Lucille is just so old fashioned. Also if you plan on calling her Lucy, what's the point in Lucille?

I don't like Lucy at all. I think of Loosey-Goosey, which is sometimes used to refer to girls who are very "friendly". I wouldn't want to think of "loose" when I think of a little girl. I like Lucille, but I'd never call her Lucy.

If you want Lucy then just use it. If you want a longer name, then Lucille or Lucinda

I think Lucy works fine on it's own and Lucy Clementine is perfect - I do prefer it as a nickname if I were to use ti for myself, my favorite form being Lucelia.
