    Question Help with spelling

So I am completely in love with the name Aurelia for a girl, but my husband and I find it a little too formal for everyday use so I've been looking for a good nickname. Well this morning I came up with one that I love, but I don't know how to go about spelling it, I pronounce it Ray-Lee. Any thoughts on how I could spell it though? Any input is appreciated!

I love Aurelia! I'm partial to the nn Ari personally, but "ray-lee" is really cute, too. I would probably spell it Raley or Ralie if you want to keep it simple, but I've always had a soft spot for the -ayley spelling, so I think I'd lean toward Rayley, personally.

    Good luck!

I second Ari as a nn, plus Aurelia is pronounced "aw-reel-ya" so the "ray" part of the nn throws me off (though people have all kinds of nn's so whatever floats your boat...).

I know an Aurélie. I think Rélie would work as a nickname spelling. I don't know, it's just a nickname, you can spell it however you want. I feel like anything like Reily, Reylie, etc. would make it look like either a spelling mishap with Reilly (or whatever spelling) or would just blend in with Kaylee-Bayley-Shaylee etc. which would be a huge shame, imo.

aw-RAY-lee-ah and aw-REL-yah are accepted pronunciations of Aurelia, too, I believe.

Actually, the Italian prn is Ow-reh-lyah. But I agree, the French Relie (with the acute accent on the first e) would be a good way to spell it.

I love Aurelia, and I think it's fine for everyday use. I also pronounce it as Aw-reel-yah, but I can see where the Ray coem from. For Ray-lee, I think Railee or Railey would be a logical spelling.

I knew an Aurelia and she pronounced it like Uh-rail-yuh. Everyone called her "Rails" for short, but I think she spelled her nickname like Rels.

Anyway, Rayley is cute, but I also believe Aurelia is not too formal for everyday use...it's so pretty, you should say it as much as possible!
