I'm trying to narrow down my list a bit. I have several "A" names on there, so maybe this will help me out. Please let me know what you think about these. TIA!

    Amalia
    Avonlea
    Afton
    Acacia
    Alessandra
    Annora / Honora
    Angelina
    Athena

Amalia- I like it, but I like Amelia even more.
Avonlea- Avalon is better, in my opinion.
    Afton- Okay.
    Acacia- I don't like this.
Alessandra- I love it! Much softer than Alexandra.
Annora / Honora- I think Honor is prettier.
Angelina- Love it, but may be too Jolie.
    Athena- Gorgeous! Beautiful and mythological.

Another name you might like is Artemis.

I adore Alessandra, it's my number one girls name.
I'm a fan of Amalia too, and Avonlea is nice but not first name material to me.

The rest are okay. Angelina is nice, but I prefer Angelika (an-jah-lee-kah)

Afton is not attractive to me at all.

I like Avonlea. It's so literary and girly and fun. That's definitely my favorite, but I also really like Amalia, Annora (and Honora... I like the Honora spelling more, but it obviously doesn't have the "A" spelling), and Angelina.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. namelover77, I drive a Toyota Avalon so it's too much of a car name for me. :/ That's a shame though because it is a great name.

aj_bear, I say Amalia like ah MAHL ee ah. I would use Mali / Molly as a nn. for it.

ashthedreamer, I like the Honora spelling better also, but I always end up grouping it with the "a" names because it has that same sound.

Alessandra doesn't seem to be over the top?

I'm disappointed that so many people immediately associate Angelina with Jolie... I wouldn't even think of that.

Thanks everyone! Keep the feed back coming!

I love Athena, but it's not really a nickname able name. How about Annabeth instead?

Oh, wait. I forgot. You could also to Avalon, which is like Avonlea. Or adelaide(Adele or Adela). If you go with Avonlea, she has to read the Anne of Green Gables series.
