I like the name Chantilly, it is very cute, but I am afraid it is not feminine enough, but I love made up names that sound like real names.

I love Ottilie, or Ottoline like the character in Rupert. Ottilie is prettier though. One of my relatives was called Annette and she didn't like it because it sounded like "a net", which got attention in school.
I've heard of a Chantelle called Tilly, although it doesn't really make sense. Also, Trillie, which was a username online but I think it would make a really pretty forename - a prettier variation of Trinnie. If you wanted to go the really contemporary route there's Netley, which could lead to Tillie or Netta while linked to Annette - but don't use Netley anywhere that Tetley tea is sold. That's all I can think of.

I am not interested in naming a child after myself, but thanks for your thoughts. I do love my name Annette, people do make name jokes because of the "a net" thing, but I like the uniqueness of it. I also like my nickname "netty".

I understand where you are coming from, but my grandmother and my great grandmother are dead. It is also a family tradition to name your kids after their grandparents, so I do plan to name a child after my mother in law. My moms and her siblings names were Tilly, Henry, Marcy and Florence named after Tillie, Henrdrick, Martin and Flora.
