My list needs some honest opinions - please help!
Please could you gives me your thoughts on these names and/or tell me your favourites? Sibling name is Agatha Arwen. I'm not sure about a middle name yet but maybe Austin. Our surname is one syllable beginning with L. We're in Australia so popularity levels might be slightly different to the US.
I promise not to get upset at the criticism :-)
Alexander
Dominic
Edward
Evan
Gabriel
Henry
Lawrence
Patrick
Rory
Solomon
Theodore
Suggestions also welcome. Thanks so much!
Edited to add: sorry the list is a bit long, I know that puts some people off from responding. We genuinely need some help cutting it down.Last edited by titch; June 15th, 2012 at 03:59 AM.

Alexander -- I love Alexander!
Dominic -- Feel a bit meh about this one although I'm not sure why
Edward -- I like it. Like the nick name possibilites, Ned & Ted
Evan -- Never really been a fan of this. Doesn't flow very well with Austin.
Gabriel -- Seems girly to me, you can blame Gabrielle for that!
Henry -- I really really like Henry.
Lawrence -- Kind of like this, like the nn Laurie
Patrick -- Not a big fan of this name.
Rory -- Another, Meh name for me.
Solomon -- This one that I really love, but would probably never use.
Theodore -- I've liked Theo since The Cosby Show!Mama to Leo Sebastian & expecting another little man in July!

I am in Australia, too...Just thinking about friends and friends of friends and students at school (I teach grade 1) and their younger siblings, I'd say that Alexander & Henry are probably the most popular on that list.
From your list, I like Evan (think Evan is getting a bit popular in the US but haven't really heard it here...) & Theodore best. I really like the nn Ned for Edward but not a big fan of Edward on its own. Your names seem to vary quite a bit from one another as far as styles go...
Does Agatha have a nickname? If not, I'd be surprised - seems Aussies love to shorten names! Just thinking about how the sibset would sound together.

Alexander - Like!
Dominic - Love!
Edward - Don't like it at all.
Evan - Love! I'd consider it but I dated an Evan in HS.. not sure how I feel about having a son with the same name.
Gabriel - It's ok.
Henry - Love!
Lawrence - It's ok.
Patrick - Love! Another I'd consider but my cousin used to be married to a Patrick who was a bit of a jerk, so not sure if I want to bring up any memories for her.
Rory - Too nicknamey for me.
Solomon - It's ok.
Theodore - Love!!Top 10 girl's names: Serena * Audrey * Sienna * Bridget * Lucy * Hazel * Cordelia * Josephine * Claire * Alice

Alexander - love the long form, and Xander, strongly dislike Alex, which is boring, common, and sadly, almost inevitable. Which is too bad, because I adore Alexander. So handsome.
Dominic - just alright. I find the nicknames dull.
Edward - this is growing on me. I think it's so regal, and distinguished, but also so accessible and cute!
Evan - a comfortable, well-known name that boys seem to like having.
Gabriel - I've never loved this, despite that it is a classic with a strong history. Would sound great with big sister's name though.
Henry - adorable, wonderful, sweet and strong! Can't go wrong with this choice!!
Lawrence - I've always loved this, but don't know why. I think it's very handsome and intelligent-sounding, without sounding pretentious or snobish. Again, I think this would make a winning sibset with Agatha (which I've yet to compliment - Agatha Arwen is lovely!!!)
Patrick - another comfortable, friendly name. Love this one.
Rory - cute and cool - a little nickname-ish.
Solomon - a tad too quirky for my tastes.
Theodore - such an excellent name, would transition so well from baby to child to teen to adult, with several great nns (Teddy, Ted, Theo...).
My FAVORITES from your list (on their own AND paired with sister's name):
#1. Lawrence
#2. Edward
#3. Henry
#4. Patrick
The ONLY one I dislike - Solomon.
Good luck! You have an excellent list - you really can't go wrong!

They're all nice enough names, but I'll leave the ones I love to comment on.
Alexander - I love how regal this sounds and if the full name doesn't fit him, you have TONS of other options for nn's. Alexander Austin also has nice flow and alliteration, which is totally cool in my book! (Two AA's though, don't know if that bugs you?)
Gabriel - Love this name. It creeped up on me recently and I really dig it. Gabriel Austin sounds nice as well.
Henry - Another very regal name. Don't like it as much with Austin, though.
Patrick - Such a cute name. It's a little bit quirky and a lot a bit cool
Solomon - This is my number one for you! I like this best with Agatha. However, Solomon Austin is slightly awkward with the 'n' endings. It's likely to be a non issue, though, since the fn and ln are typically only said.
Theodore - LOVE! This is my favorite name at the moment (that I haven't used). I just adore the sound and elegance of this name. It's my second choice for you and I think it flows better with Austin.
My top 3: Solomon, Theodore, and Alexander.Current loves: Theodore & Rosalind
Mommy to Arabella and Jude
