On June 23, 2013 I (Miranda Jane) married my high school sweetheart Lucas Sebastian Hastings. We had a small wedding ceremony in the Botanic Gardens of Denver, Colorado. When we were married he as 20 and I was 21. From the start we knew we wanted a fairly large family and agreed to start trying right away. After almost 2 years of trying we decided to visit a fertility clinic. After another few months we made the decision to try In Vitro fertilization. We knew that we had a higher chance of getting multiples this way but decided to go for in anyway. We decided on four eggs, thinking that even if all of them were fertilized that quadruplets would be okay with us.

A month later I finally worked up the courage to take a pregnancy test, and voila! I was finally pregnant! I went to the doctor when I was about 8 weeks along, excited to see our little peanut for the first time. During the ultra sound the nurse looks up at us almost immediately, "I need to go grab a doctor really quick, hold on, and I advise some deep breaths." Lucas and I looked at each other, slightly mortified, but we decided not to worry yet and just wait. A few minutes later the doctor can in and introduced himself carefully examining the ultrasound on the screen. "Well it looks like the in vitro worked... maybe a little too well." He hesitated, I was preparing myself, it was multiples, two or three maybe even four. Lucas and I looked at each other than at the doctor. Lucas spoke up, "Well give us the news doc, how many little peanuts are we having?" Startled by my husbands obvious forwardness, he paused again and after a few seconds he said, "So far I'm counting 7." SEVEN!! I couldn't even breathe, 4 eggs does not equal 7 last time I checked. But after the shock wore off we decided to keep all 7 and not try to reduce, they were our children after all.

Six months later on February 16, 2016 I delivered 7 little bundles of joy. A set of fraternal twin girls, a set of identical triplet boys and a set of identical twin girls.
