    A Sister for Everly

We just found out we're having another little girl and need a name to go with her sister "Everly". Any ideas? We like Stella and Olive but are looking for something a little different.

The name that first came to my mind to go with Everly is Amelia. I don't know why, just first thought. Everly sounds sweet and flow-y to me, and Stella and Olive don't give me that impression at all.

I tend to think that it's important to pick names that don't sound too similar, so that you don't mix them up while talking to the kiddos. Everly and Olive really are close enough for that, with the dominant L and V sounds.

What attracted you to Everly? Did you come by it as an alternative to another name, like Evelyn or Beverly, or did you discover it on its own? What are its best qualities, to you?

Everly and Stella sound lovely. I also like Everly and Tabitha, Everly and Isla and Everly and Carys.

I don't like Olive, either (although I know I'm in the minority there). It's very drab next to Everly.

I really like nat108's ideas, especially Iris, Odessa and Adele.

    Welcome to Nameberry, Eve!

    My recommendation is ...

    Everly [and] Amory
    Everly [and] Piperel
    Everly [and] Sutherland
    Everly [and] Tamerlane

... a sibset comprised of three-syllable English unisex names with a similar upbeat feel.
