Well, knowing what Caramia means, now (I mean, I had a general idea, but it wasn't really registering, lol), I think it sounds like an adorable nickname! I mean, my mom called me Baby/Babe growing up, and I kind of loved that about her, it was her term of endearment for me, so why not Caramia, if it means "my dear" or whatever? You could keep Elizabeth Hope, and still call her Caramia. I think that'd be sweet.

A major difference between Elizabeth and Caramia is that Elizabeth will have no spelling or pronunciation issues; whereas, Caramia will be mispronounced and misspelled a lot. For that reason, I vote for Elizabeth Caramia, so you can still call her Caramia when and if you want without her having to correct people all the time and explain her name.
Mother of three teenagers: (1) Daniel Glen, (2) Timothy Austin, and (3) Rebecca Jane... all middle names honor family... 3rd generation mn Jane. (A second girl would have been Susanna Eve and a third boy, maybe Isaac...)

I could definitely see the appeal in Caramia. After all my daughters name is Mia Bella so I get it. But, its a term of endearment and not a name, also the spelling a pronunciation will definitely be an issue. What about using Cara as a first and Mia as a middle thus way you can still call her Caramia but she will have the option to just use Cara as well
I also think Elizabeth is pretty

I don't like Caramia. I'm sorry. I just think of Caramello or Carebears. And when I first read it I thought it was car-AH-me-uh

I can see the appeal, but I honestly think it's too fraught with issues of pronunciation and meaning.
And it's reminding me a bit of the idea another poster had, of using Piccolo for a boy. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't really understand why people think it's a good idea to take a word/phrase that is not even a name in another country, and use it for a Christian name. Your child is going to meet plenty of people who will automatically think 'Why is this person named 'my dear' in Italian?!'

Thanks for all your input everyone! After some more thought and sleeping on it, I have decided to stick with the combo Elizabeth Hope. I think I will tuck Caramia on my guilty pleasure list, as I really do love the sound of it. @ash I think your idea of using it as a lovey name from me to her is adorable! and @itsreelygreat I loved reading your post! It makes me smile to see that you love your name, I want my baby girl to feel the same way
