    "L" names...

I've been increasingly thinking about "L" names as I've been wanting to honor my grandfather (L.B., just L.B., not short for anything). Originally I had planned on using the LB initials as a double MN, but I've started thinking about using an "L" name as a FN, too, so I'm looking for ideas. Any suggestions?

    So far, I like:

    Linus
    Lincoln
    Leander
    Lennox
    Leopold

WDYT of those, and any new ideas? ATM, my short list is Caleb, Everett, Asher, Jack, Grayson, Brody, Spencer, Bailey, Avery, and Boone--ideally, I'd like something that works well with those.

    Thanks, ladies!

I like Lewis/Louis quite a bit, but I'm not sure I want to use it because of One Direction. I sort of have this embarrassing celebrity crush on Louis Tomlinson, lol, so it feels utterly ridiculous to consider it as a name.

I do like Liam, too, but it feels a bit nicknamey to me, I'm not sure I would use it. I like the option of William nn Liam more. That, and I wrote this story where the super-bad guy was named Liam Henry, so I kind of think of him when I think of the name. I do like it a lot, though. I'm not sure how it would go over in my family, though--my uncle's family is pretty hardcore Scottish, and they all say Liam as LEEM rather than LEE-um, which is how most Americans say it. He said Liam somebody-or-other at Christmas time, and I didn't even know what he was saying because he said LEEM, lol.

I love Laurent, but I can only really see using it as a MN. And I love the idea of Luther, especially with such great namesakes as Martin Luther and Martin Luther King, Jr., but I can't help but think of Lex Luthor straightaway, which isn't as positive. :/

I love Lucian, too, I actually was so close to adding it to my list in the OP. I'm just not sure what nn I would use--I'm not a huge Luke/Luc fan, and while I like Ian, I don't love it... and I'm not sure I would want to use just Lucian.

I like Lachlan, too, and love the nn Locke, but I'm not sure my kid would be strong enough to pull it off, haha. Most of my kids will be adopted, and while I plan on adopting the majority of them from birth, I want to be sensitive to the fact that they may have issues with fitting in, and Lachlan sort of feels like a big name for anyone.

Linus - I love, love, love Linus!

Lincoln - This name is okay. I've heard it on a few kids. I guess I just think it's sort of cutesy which doesn't make much sense. But that's how I see it.

Leander - This is a cool name to grow into.

Lennox - If Angelina Jole hasn't named a kid this yet, I'd be surprised. It reminds me of her style.

    Leopold - Very elegant name.

As for more L-name suggestions, you're in luck! My brother wants to name his kids all names starting with L's so I have a collection for him. (Sorry for any repeats of names others have suggested.) Here it is:

    Linus

    Les

    Lorcan

    Lachlan

    Lander

    Lars

    Larsen

    Lazarus

    Locke

    Lindbergh

    Lael

    Leander

    Larson

    Laurence

    Landen

    Lysander

    Logan

    Langston

    Lucien

    Luther

    Loren

    Louis

    Lourdes

    Leif

    Levon

    Lyman

    Lennon

lol, well, she has a Knox so I don't think she'll use Lennox... but I can see why it reminds you of her.

I do like Landon from your suggestions, but it's a bit too overdone/trendy for me at the moment. It's one of those names that I've always adored, but since it's been in the limelight for a while, it just feels a bit too overdone for me. I do love it, though.

I like Linden, minor nature name but I'm quite fond of it.

Lazarus goes on and off my list but its a lot of name.

Lysander is a big favourite in this house, DH wants to call him Sander as a NN if we use that. Leander is nice too but I don't like Lee or Andy as much as NNs.

Liam and Levi was a break between us, I loved one and was meh on the other, DH loved the other and hated the one I loved so we set both aside.

Lemuel is a guilty pleasure of mine but I don't know that I'd use it ever.

I really really like Linus for you! I like Lincoln too but I wonder if it would be a hard name for a child to wear, especially if they are adopted internationally, it might be weird to have a presidents name, but IDK it might work just fine. The only other names I think of that have not been mentioned yet are:

    Lane/Layne
    Leaf/Leif
Lucky - I love this in a GP sort of way

    ❤ Clara ♡ Lucy ❤ Anna ♡ Julia ❤ Nora ♡ Charlotte ❤ Grace ♡ Margot ❤ Eleni ♡ Olive ❤ Violet ♡ Lydia ❤Georgia ♡ Audrey ❤

    ♡ Dean ❤ Dominic ♡ Paul ❤ Gabriel ♡ Charles ❤ Asher ♡ Joseph ❤ Jude ♡ Cyprian ❤ Jesse ♡ Blaise ❤ Stavros ♡ Leo ❤ Samuel ♡ Henry ❤
