    too masculine?

Just found out this afternoon that we are having a girl! Our son's name is Callahan and we were planning to name the baby Sullivan if it was a boy. I love the name. Thinking of Sullivann for a girl...thoughts? I love the 2 n's because I have them at the end of my name as well

I'm not a fan of Sullivan(n) on a girl at all, sorry. It's way too masculine to me--I can't imagine it on a girl at all. I would save it for a second son, if you're blessed with one in the future.

What about something like Ariann(e), Lillian/Liliane, Julianne, Brianne, Vivianne, etc.?

    Congratulations on your little girl!
The name is most definitely too masculine, and misspelling it does not make it a feminine name I'm afraid. How about:
    Susannah
    Julia
    Tallulah
    Roseanne
    Annelien
    Arianne
    Corinne
    Fabienne
    Lucienne
    Rhiannon
    Sunniva
    Zinnia

I agree that it's way too masculine. I know someone naming their baby boy this when he's born soon. I really like PP's suggestions!

If I met boy/girl sibs named Callahan & Sullivan I'd think Callahan was the girl because of the nn Calla

I think Sullivan could work on a girl. What I don't really like is that your son's name is so close. You cannot tell who is the boy and who is the girl. I always feel that if you choose a boy name for a girl you should choose a 100% masculine name for your boy, one that is totally different in style from your daughters name so you can see a gender difference.

Oh but please do not change the spelling. That never makes a boy name more feminine, just more wrong.

I'm not a fan, especially if it's misspelled. Way too masculine, and I agree with pps that it would be difficult to tell which child is which gender by looking at the names. If it's a family name, you could use it as a middle with a feminine first name maybe. Or you could save it for your next son.

I think it's extremely masculine and paired with your son's name, I would definitely assume she was a boy.

My thought too! I also think Sullivan is too masculine. What about Simone for a girl instead?
