Cool Bennett, Beckett, Everett, or Emmett?

    Hello everyone!

I'm working on my top 10 boys names, and I've realized that I have a love for boys names that end in -ett!

So which of these four do you prefer and why?

    Bennett
    Beckett
    Everett
    Emmett

    Thanks !

1 Bennett - Medieval form of Benedict. Classy, handsome and distinguished.
2 Everett - An "English gentleman" name
    3 Emmett - A softer alternative
3 Beckett - Trendy and harsh sounding
    All the best,
    Mischa.

Everett is my favorite--can do English gentleman or Western pioneer/cowboy. Love the sound and versatility. Bennett would be my second fave. Emmett is too Twilight for me and Beckett has always sounded harsh or guttural to me, too...

Ha! Me, too. Everett, Beckett, Bennett, Abbott, Elliot, and Truett have all been considerations for my list at some point in time.

Bennett - I like that it means "blessed/blessed one", and I love the nn Ben, but there's something about it that holds me back. I would love to meet a Bennett, but I don't think I'd use it.

Beckett - I'm quite partial to this, as it honors both my sister (Becca) and my grandfather (whose name was related to bees, as is Beckett), but it never seems to fit perfectly on my list. I've had Beckett Aaron, Noah Beckett Flynn, and Beckett Oscar Rhys as considerations in the past few years, but none of them quite stick on my top 10. I would love to use it someday, though, since it's so meaningful.

Everett - my clear favorite! Much as I love -ett names, Everett is the one that sticks. I love how dashing and classy it feels, yet so down-to-earth. It's my second favorite boys' name, and my sister and I are currently arguing over who gets to keep it, haha. I think it's her favorite at the moment. If I wasn't so tied to Caleb, it probably would be my favorite.

Emmett - one -ett name I can never get behind. It has a cool sound, but the associations just put me off. Twilight, Emmett Smith (the football player), and Emmett Milbarge (the one that really puts me off--he was in the TV show Chuck in the second season... he was just a bumbling, aggravating idiot, haha, I could handle Twilight and football, but this Emmett just drove me crazy!). The nns bother me, too--Em, Emma, Emmy, etc., are just too girly and I can see it resulting in teasing while he's younger. It's a great name, just not for me.

I lean toward Everett, personally, but I've opted to keep several on my list at the moment, haha. I have Everett as a FN, Elliot as a MN, and Violet and Charlotte as FNs on my girls' list.

    Good luck!

    Everett!!!

It's on our list, but our absolute favorite is Ezra so if we have two boys, Everett most likely won't be an option since Ezra and Everett are very close, we might name our kid Ezra Everett though that way we get both

I also like Emmett, but i hate twilight so that ones off my list.

The other names aren't my style.

The only one on that list I don't like is Beckett. The others are all nice. I think I like Bennett the most.

    Sebastián Tomás (2010)
    Inés Magdalena (2013)

    1. Bennett - I think this one sounds the most natural as a name. I like that a boy can fall back on "Ben", if he wants something short and familiar in his teen years.
    4. Beckett - I don't like the sound of this one. It's trendy.
    2. Everett - this is a cool name, but it also sounds distinguished.
    3. Emmett - I like this name, it's the only one from this list where I actually know a child named this in real life. It's a soft, friendly sounding name.

I also think you'd like Elliot.

    Thank you guys!
I'm a little iffy about Beckett and Emmett, too! I think Beckett doesn't sound as classic as the others, but I love the nickname Beck. And Emmett is Twilight-y for me too, I was just wondering if it may have worn off for some people.
I absolutely adore Bennett and Everett just sounds so handsome to me, so it's really between those two!

Bennett - this is my favorite because I love the name Ben
Beckett - 2nd favorite because I like Beck
Everett - I know a family with this last name so it's hard for me to think of it as a fn, no real nn either
Emmett - meh, Twilight and no masculine nicknames
