    The spanish nickname is Vale pronounced like Vah-lay, but i think Nina would work! I really like this name and it is hugely popular in latin america, where my hsband is from and we may live. But i want a name that can cross languages and i also loathe Val and Tina

    First of all, I have to say, I really despise when beautiful names are hacked up and shortened to accommodate someone who's too lazy to say an extra syllable. So for that reason, not really a fan of nicknames, unless they have the potential to be lovely stand alone names all by themselves.

    For this name though, it has that option.

    ~~~Vale~~~is just as beautiful, honestly perhaps more so, than the longer version, Valentina.
    You have wonderful taste, I might add....good luck!!
