    Dane

    Hey there!

Does Dane for you have a similar feel as i.e. Sloane or Blair for a girl?

I never met a girl with this name, do you think it could work though?

No, sorry, it doesn't. Sloane and Blair feel streamlined, I don't know how to explain it--it sort of reminds me of metal or silver, something rather cool but not really definitive for either gender, which is why I think so many people like Blair and Sloane for girls. But with Dane, it feels warm to me, and masculine, due to its similarity to the traditional Daniel and Dane Cook.

No, it has a differnt feel to me. Sloane and Blair have a kind of polished, preppy feel. Dane feels like a casual, athletic guy. I know a male Dane, and of course the Dane Cook connection and similarity to Daniel are also factors.

No, I think Dane is solidly masculine. If you're looking for something similar to Dane that's more like Sloane and Blair, there's always Dana. I admit it's not as surnamey or preppy, but at least it's also a unisex name used primarily by girls.

I don't think it feels similar to Sloane and Blair. I think it feels similar to Zane, Blane, Thane... it's a boys name to me (I've met one ^_^)

My first association is with Eric Dane...then a Great Dane. I don't think it makes a good name for anyone particularly, but it's one hundred times worse on a girl.

Misspelling something does not make it a girls' name. How about Danae or Danica? If you really wanted to, you could nickname her Dane.

All I think of is a Great Dane dog. I think it's pretty bad for a girl, and not much better for a boy.

    Danica would be much better.
