Betsy Buttercup can I ask why you don't share your boys' names? Not being funny, just genuinely interested since we're all talking about names in here. :-)[/QUOTE]
I'm extremely paranoid and superstitious when I'm pregnant. I'll tell people I am on anonymous forums online, but in real life I usually only share it with family and people who see me every day. Since I've shared on this forum that I'm pregnant right now and most people IRL don't know it, I don't want to put down my other boys' names and be google-able, because I seriously doubt anyone I know knows anyone else with three boys with this combination of names - they're pretty random!

Name-obsessed twenty-something in the US. No kids right now, but will be TTC in a few years...it's fun to think of the possibilities in the meantime!

I think Evan and Eliot are great for spunky little girls. Elias is hard for me to picture on a girl, but I've known two girls called Eli - both short for Elizabeth. I'm a fan of gender-neutral names, though. We chosen Rowan for our first baby without knowing the baby's sex precisely because it's a gender-neutral name. The gender-neutral name hate can be pretty thick around here, but given national naming trends, there are plenty of people who like them. If you like gender neutral or even gender bending names, you choose them knowing you're in good company - just not necessarily here.
And, for those of you who claim that a daughter will hate such a name, I grew up with what was a "boy's" name and am not at all scarred.

I knew someone named Evanne...I always thought it was pretty spelled that way. I wouldn't use the boy spelling, since that would be confusing.

I hate that boys names are getting taken by girls. My son is named Evan and it never once crossed my mind that it would be used as a girl name until recently. Now I'm upset that some people think it's feminine and I feel bad for my son. But names have become so bizarre in recent years that there's not much that surprises me anymore. It's all gotten a bit ridiculous.

I hate the trend of boy names going on girls, because it's not vice versa. There is never a girl name going to a boy. I think if you name your girl Elliot, Elias or Evan, then you should give your boy a girl name like Sarah or Emily.
To me boy's names should remain on boys, or you end up with the Kelly situation and no one likes that. Our Cats:
