    Sibling for Juniper Anne

We are looking for a girl & boy name that will go well with our 1.5 year old Juniper Anne. I really like the 3-1-2 rhythm of her name & would like to replicate that with baby #2. I also like more obscure names that are still easy to spell/pronounce. I would like to steer clear of J & would opt not to get too granola with another overtly nature sounding name. I like Oliver James for a boy & am seeking your advice for more boy & girl names to add to my list!

Juniper Anne is super cool - does she go by a nickname (June or Junie or June-bug)? Here are my ideas:

    Aveline* (Av, Ave, Avi, Ava)
    Coraline* (Cora, Coco)
    Finola
    Hermione
    Isabeau
    Lucienne
    Melisande
    Noemi* (Noe, Noie, Em, Emi)
    Oliva
    Roxana* (Rox, Roxy, Ana)
    Tallulah
    Verena

Middles - Belle, Cate, Clare (Claire), Elle, Faith, Faye, Gwen, Grace, Greer (Grier), Hope, Jane, Joy, Kate, Kay, Lou, May (Mae), Nell, Pearl, Paige, Quinn, Rose, Ruth, Rue, Sage, Tess

My favorite first names are marked with asterisks, but they are Aveline [AH-veh-leen], Coraline [COR-a-line], Noemi [no-EM-ee], and Roxana [rox-AN-a]. Combinations I like with Juniper Anne are Aveline Clare, Aveline Joy, Aveline Rose, and Aveline Sage; Coraline Faith, Coraline May, Coraline Pearl, and Coraline Sage; Noemi Cate, Noemi Faye, Noemi Jane, Noemi Pearl, Noemi Rue, and Noemi Sage; and Roxana Belle, Roxana Lou, Roxana Paige, and Roxana Sage.

    Benetton* (Ben, Benny, Benet)
    Dashiell* (Dash)
    Elliot
    Fitzwilliam
    Maximus
    Sebastian
    Tobias

Middles - Charles, George, James, John, Jack, Luke, Paul, Quinn, Sage

Again, I marked my favorite first names with asterisks - Benetton and Dashiell. My favorite combinations, when considering Juniper Anne, and probably Benetton Charles, Benetton James, or Benetton Sage; or Dashiell James, Dashiell John, or Dashiell Quinn.

    Good luck!

    My recommendation is ...

    Juniper [and]:

    Boys:
    01. Cicero ["chickpea"]
    02. Flavius ["yellow-colored"]
    03. Peregrine ["traveler, pilgrim"]
    04. Solaris ["of the sun"]

    Girls:

    01. Allegra ["joyous"] ... [Latin or Italian]
    02. Minerva ["of the mind, intellect"]
    03. Pomona ["apple" or "fruit tree"]
    04. Rosalba ["white rose"]
    05. Tamarisk ["shrub, tree"]

... a sibset comprised of upbeat and offbeat three-syllable Latin names.

My first thought was Tallulah but I also like

    Christabel
    Emmeline
    Delilah
    Aurora
    Eloise

slight nature inspired but not over the top:
    Magnolia (Maggie)
    Clementine (Clemmie, Emmy, Cleo)
    Marina (Mary, Mina, Nina)

    Boys:
    Everett
    Tobias
    Atticus

I also like Dexter with Juniper but its only 2 syllables, so that's probably not an option.

My first thought was Clementine but not sure if that would be too naturey for you. I just think it sounds very cute with Juniper.

You guys ROCK! These are GREAT suggestions--keep them coming! Love all the one syllable mn--I'm going to try to see if we have any more one syllable family names for mn!

I love the name Coraline, but feel the movie (that should have been named "Bore-aline") really did that name in for me--maybe I can ressurect it? I also like Allegra, but can't get past the allergy medicine reference.

Here's what I like from the list so far:
Girls: Coraline, Roxana, Tallula, Clementine, Estella & Millicent
Boys: Everett, Percival, Sebastian & Maximus (but a friend just named her son Maximus, bummer)

Juniper goes by Juniper at home, her daycare teachers call her "Junie" (and I can't stand it)--my parents call her "June-bug" which is cute for a toddler.
Proud mama of Juniper Anne (11/2010)

Excited to find a sibling name for our baby due in January 2013!

I think Coraline should be resurrected, for sure! I love the sound of the name. Another one I wanted to throw out was Leonie. Leonie Sage or Leonie Claire would be so pretty with Juniper Anne. Bellamy would be nice, too! Bellamy Kate or Bellamy Pearl? Sorry - I'm much more creative when it comes to girl names.
