Friend just welcomed baby Apollo!

What do you think of Apollo? What god names would you consider using?

My favorites are Atlas, Athena, Rhea, Phoebe, Orion, Rhodes

I absolutely love Apollo! It's my top choice for a baby boy right now.
But....I'm having a hard time getting my hubby to agree ):

I love Apollo! The only ones of your that are actually a god/goddess is Athena, and I LOVE it. I wouldn't consider naming my child after her as I feel she might take affront to it, but I'm using Sophia (meaning wise) to honor her. I feel the same with Apollo, who is my husbands God, and we're using Lykaion to honor him as the name means Wolf and the wolf is one of Apollo's sacred animals.

I'm using Loki and Persephone because I don't worship them specifically but want to pay tribute to them and the things they do for us ^_^

Other than that, I love a ton of mythological names. I love the titans like Hyperion, Phoebe, Rhea (which is pronounced RAY-uh in Greek), Atlas and Selene.
I love the primordial names like Gaia, Nyx, and Thalassa
I love the God/Goddess names Pan, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, and Hestia
There's also quite a lot of minor dieties whose names I love but who rule over awful things: Adikia, Alastor, Eirene, Harmonia, Lachesis, Soteria
And the others (which are Heroes, Deified mortals, and minor gods/goddesses): Megaera, Hecate (he-CATE-tee), Acheron, Damon, Simon, Hemera, Iris, Maia, Cybele, Ariadne, Psyche, Thalia (thay-lee-ah in Greek), Circe, Clio, Perseus, Theseus, Andromeda, Cassandra, Hermione (hair-me-oh-nee in Greek)

There are others besides Greek that I like such as Loki, Freya, Ceredwen, Osiris, Isis... ^_^

I think Apollo is a cute name, thought not for me.

I like the names on your list, especially Athena, Phoebe and Orion.

I think it is an interesting name but not my style. My husband's cousin just had a little Apollo a few weeks ago, brother to Leo.
