Wow! Thanks Berries! What a great response! I do appreciate all of the feedback and ideas. My hubby and I will mull over the ideas on this list. I do like Catherine, I am trying to convince myself that I also like it beginning with K.
Again, thanks heaps! You have all been extremely helpful!

What I like about Katherine with a K is that you can use Kate and Kit, both of which are more appealing to me than their C-versions.
Other K names I like are: Kahlan, Katrina, and Koralie.
Though in general I agree with you, there aren't many K names that are appealing to me. And I have the same name as the person you are honoring

I understand your dilemma, to me most 'K' names should start with a 'C' and I know thats not always right but I cannot get it out of my mindset.
But I must admit I do adore Kali, which has been suggested but I will repeat again. Its spunky, a tad mysterious with some interesting background so I will recommend. It may lack a little substance, but I think it could work and best of luck to you both.
The Ever-Changing List:
Merewen | Lydia | Alais | Della | Eleanor | Susanna | Isobel | Thalia | Romilly | Claire
Simon | Tobias | Everett | Leo | Kit | Gideon | Nathaniel | Alasdair | Jack | Arthur

Klara, might look trendy to some, but it is the scandinavian and german version of Claire.
Also: If it is about honoring, I never really though the same initials would be really honoring, just too much of a stretch for me. What about letting that person chose the middle name or even firstname? That way you give a very important thing to them and your kid will always have a bond to that person and know thats where they got their name from. Just an idea.

Oh, I completely understand your dilemma! I am a K name and I've always found it strange. I have a problem of writing off any name that begins with a K. However, I've learned to love a few over time, most of which have been mentioned.
Kezia (it's just plain cool)
Keira/Kira (I think Ms. Knightley has been quiet enough lately that a lot of people wouldn't immediately think of her)
Katharine (This one snuck up on me, big time. I used to be a Catherine only kinda gal)
Kerensa
I know you'll find one from everyone's great suggestion that you'll love! Good luck!Current loves: Theodore & Rosalind
Mommy to Arabella and Jude
