Sister for Mirabelle and Monet
I'm having fun imagining the name of my potential (way in the future) third daughter, whose sisters are named Monet Elisabeth and Mirabelle Sylvie. Here are some names I've come up with so far:
Zara
Odile (idk, would the nn be “Odie?”)
Louisa (family name)
Isadora
Maeve
Marlowe/Marlow
Maisie (as a nickname for a longer name)
Millie (ditto)
Mireille (I understand this is prncd MEER-AY - is this too similar in sound to Mirabelle and Monet?)
Esme (Again, too similar in sound? Would this be associated with Twilight?)
Lily (family name)
Liliana
Talullah
Sadie (I love this - it almost made the cut instead of Mirabelle for the second baby)
Giselle
Wilhelmina (nn Mina or Minnie)
Vivienne
Neve
Seraphina
Adeline
Lisette
Paloma
Mila
Madeleine
Molly
Magnolia
Rory (probably not girly enough to fit w the other two)
Violet
Sasha
I like names that are beautiful and imaginative but not too "out there". I want a name that would fit in at the nursery schools in Park Slope but not stick out too much in a small town.
My current favorite combos are Sadie Louisa and Sadie Josephine. Any other ideas of names to add? Critques welcome.

First of all, let me just say that I love Mirabelle! I wanted it so badly for baby due in September but hubby vetoed it. Secondly, I have to say that I am partial to Madeleine. I think that Marlowe/Marlow is a bit masculine, but I do like it. Perhaps Margot would be something you would consider. Rory is cute, but I like PPs suggestion of Aurora, nn Rory better. And I LOVE Josephine for a middle name.
Also, Maisie could be used as a nn for Margaret, and Millie as a nn for Amelia or Millicent.Last edited by maddiesmama; June 7th, 2012 at 05:43 PM.

That's funny that you guys brought up Margot bc I actually had it on another list and forgot to include it here. I think I like it spelled Margaux better, just because (and I know this is silly) when I see Margot it makes me think of "maggot." My husband pointed out Margot Fonteyn and Margot Kidder, and I know it's glamorous when I think of it that way, but I just can't shake the "maggot" thing.
I like Madeline a lot too - normally I would shy away from what I consider overly popular names, but it's such a classic, beautiful name, and I think now that we've named the first two Monet and Mirabelle, we've proved we're creative enough!
Esme has always been DH's favorite and I think I'm coming to like it more too. I think cute nns for it could be Essie or Emmie. Also, if I gave her the mn Louisa, bc our last name starts w L she would be ELL, so Elle or Ellie could be a nn too. Esme Louisa or Esme Josephine? (Josephine is a family name too, I think I forgot to mention that above.)

Madeline was my first thought before I read your list! Monet, Mirabelle, and Madeline just sound so perfect and complete together. M names with enough personality and different vowel sounds that theres no confusion. All have a French air to them and will age nicely. Yes, Madeline is the most popular of the three by far, but it's a great name!
I think Margaux would suit your sibset nicely too.
