UVWXY Names -- wdyt?
I'm trying to start fresh and revamp my name list. I started at the end, and have already posted about my Z choices. So here are UVWX and Y.
I found absolutely no U or Y names I liked. If pressed, I do think Yasmin/Yasmina is kinda pretty, but that's it.
For X:
Xanthe and Xanthia : I really like them, but wonder if they would work at all on a real person. I lobbied for Xanthe for my mom's Golden Retriever when it was a puppy, but no one liked it.
Xyla / Xylah : I know it's too close to xylophone, but I still think it's pretty.
For W:
Winona : Another that I would never use for real, but I just love it. So sweet and simple and pretty.
Wren : I just adore this!! I also think Wrenn and Wrenna have possibilities, but in the end I'd stick with the simple Wren.
For V:
Veda (or should I try for Veyda/Vayda?) : A new love I've never even considered, but it's so cool!!
Virginia : Love!
Vivica / Vivika : I kinda like both spellings and kinda don't like either, but I love the name.
Vivien : Getting trendy though

I love Xanthe, Wren, and Vivien!
Other UVWXY names I love:
Ursula (such a GP, but I love it anyway!)
Violet
Verity
Vienna
Winslet (GP?)
Willa
Winter
Yasmina (I absolutely love this, although, I think you're right, I probably wouldn't use it, either...)
There's also names like Yvette, Ysabel, Yulia, etc., but I like Evette, Isabelle, Julia, etc., more...Last edited by ashthedreamer; June 6th, 2012 at 03:52 PM.

I love Veda and Vivien from your list!
The UVWXY names on my (very, very long) list:
Una
Victoria
Violet
Vivian
Waverly
Willa
(no X's)
Yara
Yardley (I actually prefer this on a boy, but it's considered unisex)
Yolande
Yvaine
Yvette
Yvonne
I think Y is a pretty cool initial, personally, I guess - most Y names seem to have a little touch of the exotic.

My gdaughter is named Xanthe, she has blonde hair and cheeky blue eyes and is the daintiest little girl with enough spirit to overcome anything. It is the easiest name to say, please keep it for your baby and not for the dog.

rollo (or anyone who knows!) - I'm never quite sure how to pronounce Xanthe. If it's pronounced the way I think it is, then I really like it! But I'd love to know for sure. Could someone fill me in?
