I like Susannah. I don't really have an opinion of Midori. But I don't really like them together. The names in your signature are breathtaking (especially Bridget Aoife, Isadora Inez, and Beryl Elise!) but Susannah Midori just seems "eh" to me.

I like Susannah. I'm not sure what your ethnicity is, but if you don't have any Japanese in you or your spouse, then I wouldn't use Midori. Midori is a Japanese word, which means green. I'm assuming Gaver is your last name? If it's a second middle, I don't like it.

The flow's a bit off to me, but it's not bad. I agree with catloverd though, I would find Midori an odd pick for someone with no Japanese heritage or ties to the country (ie, the baby was born in Japan). I would think it was a cute middle name for a baby with green eyes though.

I like Susannah just fine but Midori just makes me think of alcohol. Midori is a type of melon liquor so even though I know that Midori means green in Japanese, I still think of alcohol.

Besides that, I don't think they go together very well.

I don't mind the people using a name from a culture they don't have an connection to - in the US, at least - we're the melting pot of cultures, I think it's silly to pass up something you like because it comes from a different culture. I think Midori is cute, but it does have an alcohol connection which I don't like.

    Susannah is adorable.

However, people of that culture might find it offensive.... I would avoid it unless you are of that culture for that reason. Besides being offensive, they might find you strange or odd. Also if you aren't Japanese and you pick a Japanese name, a lot of Americans will assume you were/are obsessed with Anime/Manga. Asian names on white kids just doesn't work. I'm half Chinese and trust me, a lot of Chinese people would find it weird if a white person decided to name their kid Qiuyue or Meili. Some would find it a bit offensive because it would never be pronounced correctly... I don't think I would be offended, but I would defiantly think the person was being ridiculous and I would bet they wouldn't know how to write the Chinese characters....

I wouldn't be so worried about the culture issue since its in the middle spot. How many people use their middle name in every day life? Seems like there would be little opportunity for someone to find out.

Like others, I immediately thought of the liquor (one I quite enjoyed in my younger days). Still, as a middle, I don't think it's terrible.
