    Opinions on these girls' names?

I posted another thread in the boys' forums for new boys' names I'm loving right now and thought I'd do the same for my girls' list. I'd love your opinions. Anything with an * is a family name.

    Amalia
Augusta - Love, but my stepbrother has the middle name August which he sometimes goes by. He lives in CA so we rarely see each other.
    Avis
    Clementine
    Cordelia "Delia"
    Eugenia/Eugenie - Can't decide which I like better! I pron. Eugenie as "You-GEE-nee", fwiw.
Florence* - NN Flora or Wren
Harriet - Is this going to get trendy?
June* - honors my grandmother, Judith
    Laurel
    Leona
    Lydia
    Mabel
    Nola
Penelope - I love every possible NN for this, but my favorite is probably Polly.
    Rose*
Stella - I worry about the popularity, though.
    Vera - Pronounced VEER-uh
Virginia - NN Vira, pronounced same as above.
    Winifred "Winnie"

    TIA
    Currently Loving:
    ♥ August, Henry, Dodge, Revere
♥ Mabel, Lilith, Leona, Avis, Zelda

I like them all except for Avis and Nola, which both seem musty to me, but they fit with current trends so I can see their appeal. Highlights of your list for me:
Augusta (which is a sort of family name. Do you get along with your stepbrother? If so, he might think it's pretty cool that you are considering this name)
    Florence
    June
    Lydia
    Penelope
Rose (please consider using it up front, it's so pretty and often gets delegated to the middle spot - which is ok. I just think it really shines up front. Something like Rose Florence or Rose Penelope would be so unexpected and beautiful).
Winifred/"Winnie" - I got to reread Tuck Everlasting with some middle school classes so I'm on a high with this name. (Also, would be a great book to read her).

Domenico/Dominic, Gianfranco/Gianpaolo, Giacomo, Antonio, Raphael, Calogero, Leopold, Angelo, Giorgio, Alban, Malachi, Dante, Mirek, Dario, Lionel
Katarina/Caterina, Irena, Silvia, Aniela, Delfina, Raffaella, Apollonia, Cecilia, Pasqualina, Rosalind/Rosina, Josephine, Allegra, Alba, Leokadia, Annunziata/Nunzia, Bronya, Antonella, Adrasteia, Vincenza, Althea, Eurydice, Regina

What an inspiring list! I love some of the old fashioned gems you are into. I hope you don't mind some name combos...

    Leona Clementine
    Cordelia Laurel
    Lydia Winifred
    Avis Augusta
    Mabel Virginia
    Vera Rose
    Penelope Stella
    Florence Amalia
    Clementine Augusta
    Rose Eugenia
    Leona Harriet
    Winifred Lydia Rose
    Stella Virginia
    Euginie Rose
    Harriet June
    Penelope Avis
    Laurel Augusta
    Nola Florence
    Cordelia Clementine
    June Avis
    Lydia Mabel

I think you have a very strong intelligent feminine style & I think the nicknames you are into are different but spunky, the perfect match to a serious name.

    Amalia - I like this.

Augusta - it's okay. I don't really like any nicknames for it, like Gussie or Gus.

Avis - don't like much. Reminds me of rental car company also.

Clementine - I like it if pronounced clemen-teen, not tyne as in the song.

Cordelia "Delia" - I don't like Cordelia that much but I do like Delia.

Eugenia/Eugenie - don't like too much. Prefer Eugenie though.

Florence* - NN Flora or Wren -not a big fan of it. I like Flora or Florentina.

Harriet - it doesn't sound like a name that will be trendy but who knows.

June* - I only like as a middle name.

Laurel - yes, thsi is a very nice name.

Leona - not bad, but the variant I really like is Leonie.

Lydia - like this one a lot.

Mabel - don't like it at all. May is kind of nice, and I like Amabel.

Nola - not bad at all.

Penelope - this is nice, and I agree, it does have a lot of cute nickname possibilities.

Stella -I like it too. Yes, it is popular and may get more so. But I don't worry a great deal about popularity.

Vera - I like this these days. Reminds me of the 20s.

Virginia - I like Virginia, but I don[t like the spelling Vira.

Winifred "Winnie" not a fan of Winifred or Winnie.
    Shannon
