Honestly UES/old money names are pretty normal, it's the nn's that are pretentious. They just pass on family names like Caroline or Charles and call them Clover and Kit. So you might try to come up with some classic names and interesting nn's. NN's dont have to be related, it could be Elizabeth nn Mitzy or anything you like! The key to coming up with old money/UES names is to be bold and use whatever name you like and in general mn's are last names ex:Abra Prentice Anderson Wilkin (a Rockefeller)
Going to list some names from some of the historically richest families in NYC.
Rockefeller
Elizabeth (Bessie)
Margaret Rockefeller Strong Cuevas
Blanchette Ferry Hooker Rockefeller
Anne "Fifi" Potter Stillman
Hope Aldrich Rockefeller Spencer
Spelman Prentice
Alta Rockefeller Prentice
Laurance Spelman Rockefeller
Vanderbilt
Cornelia Stuyvesant Vanderbilt
William Amherst Vanderbilt Cecil
Phebe Jane Vanderbilt
Ethelinda Vanderbilt
Flora Payne Whitney
Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney
Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt
Anderson Hays Cooper - his mom is Gloria Vanderbilt
Emily Thorn Vanderbilt
Florence Adele Twombly
Emeliea Grace Kissel
Astor family
Winthrop Astor Chanler
Lucy Aphra Nancy Astor
Sydney Ashley Chanler (male)
Laura Eugenia Astor
Charlotte Augusta Astor
Whitneys
Harry Payne Whitney
Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney
William Payne Whitney
John "Jock" Hay Whitney (Same Hays as the Vanderbilts)
Hope this will inspire some name combos for you!Last edited by thetxbelle; May 28th, 2012 at 06:34 PM.

My more society page friends in NYC are named pretty normal names. Melanie, Ana, Nina (actually, a few women that I know and who neet your criteria are named this... must have been very popular in Manhattan in the 1980s...), Sarah, Caroline, ivy. I know a ton more from college, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.
Mom to the delightful Beatrix (2011)
Loving Daphne or Louisa for future children... but not digging any boy names.
