HELP!!! down to 2 baby girl names... plz read and VOTE! thanks!

    1) Sydney Warren Van Etta

both of us really like Sydney as a first name and have known for a while that
we might use it if we had a girl. We also like names with Y in them.

Warren is mom's middle name so want to use that as the middle.

    2) Brooklyn Warren Van Etta

husbands middle name is Brooks and he had the idea that it would be neat
if both of our middle names were combined to create the baby's name.
some people might love the idea and it is a popular name right now anyway.
but some people we know probably think of a slum when they think of brooklyn
and would wonder why we would choose that name.. others might think of a supermodel
and wonder why we would do that. so although it has more meaning to us, it also
will cause us to do more explaining and justifying to family.

anyway.. knowing all of that.. which name would you choose?
    THANKS!

I much prefer Sydney. I think it's a great name for a girl, and that it will age well with her. Plus, it flows very well with the middle and last names.

While it is a VERY cool idea to combine your and your husband's middle names into an actual name for your daughter, Sydney flows much better with the rest of the name. Perhaps you can use Brooklyn as the middle name for a future daughter.
Mother of three teenagers: (1) Daniel Glen, (2) Timothy Austin, and (3) Rebecca Jane... all middle names honor family... 3rd generation mn Jane. (A second girl would have been Susanna Eve and a third boy, maybe Isaac...)

I agree Sydney flows better when you say the full name but in reality she will not e called by all her names very often. You should pick the one you like best. I think I like them both equally, both are cute. I can't decide which to vote for! I think I'll do Brooklyn because I ke a more feminine name.

I like them both the same but like others have already said, Sydney flows a little better with Warren.

I have a god daughter with the name brooklynn and shes gorgeous funny smart. Shes amazing. But, I prefer Sydney as she comes off more refined. She could be a CEO, a doctor... Just seems to flow better as an adult unless as she gets older brooklynn goes by Brooke.

I prefer Sydney to Brooklyn. I think it's a more sophisticated name that would suit a child, teenager, and adult. Plus it flows so nicely with Warren.
I'm Erin, a teenaged writer who loves names (and dessert).

I like Brooke better than Brooklyn, but if it has to be brooklyn, then i like Sydney better.
    So,
    Brooke>Sydney>Brooklyn imo

I don't like Sidney on a girl at all so I voted Brooklyn. Also like that it combines you and husband's names.

    My recommendation is ...

    Sydney Brooklyn Van Etta

... because, in my humble opinion, it is more important to use father and mother's middles than maternal grandmother's middle [and Sydney Warren -- two previous/current masculine names -- may cause gender confusion].
