    Hi there!

You have a lot more options with Katherine than just Katie - you could use Cassie, Kat, Kate, Kay, Kit or Kitty, too. I like Erin and Annora, too.

    Some suggestions:

    GIRLS
    Beatrix
    Bettina
    Carolina
    Eve
    Honor
    Iris
    Liza
    Naia
    Sonia
    Violet

    BOYS
    Cyprian
    Leo
    Owen
    Victor

    Good luck!

I have a friend called Kathryn nn Kath. How would you feel about Katherine nn Kath instead of Katie?

Maybe he's just not ready to start thinking in that sort of way? I mean, if you ask him, "what sort of names DO you like" and he has zero suggestions...well obviously you're gonna have to come up with a name for a kid at some point, but maybe he's just not really thinking in that sort of way right now?

I mean...when we were engaged, I was freaking out about the every tiniest detail, and my fiance (now husband) was just like "look...all I'm concerned with is whether or not we can afford it." Guys just think differently about this sort of thing! And I do know too that some men take on a HUGE sense of responsibility as "head of the household" (mine did--totally surprised both of us, as we are both quite independent people), so that was really occupying his full mental capacity...worrying about things like names just aren't as important in that context (although I do think names are totally important in SOME context, obviously, that's why this is one of my top-visited sites!).

So maybe just keep a secret list until there is actual a "bun in the oven," and there is a literal reason to figure something out. That's what I'm doing =P

And FWIW, I love the same sorts of names as you! I noticed you like November/Em/Ember, how about Emberly? Sorry I don't know how to link to names here...I'm still kinda new. Best of luck to you!

You are so right, capturedcastle (love your screen name btw!)... I have had to resort to this myself, as my husband's reaction is the same. It seems that men are not attuned to our ultra-creative nesting skills and dream-babies until "there is actually something [worth agonizing hours] to name". In frustrating situations like this, it might help to remember that "Men are like Waffles & Women are like Spaghetti"... Compartmentalized thoughts verses ones flowing right into the next. Men and women have totally different mind-sets. This makes me laugh every time.

I will admit, however, my first que to an awesome name discovery is 1.) when I'm bursting at the seams and cannot resist the urge to share! 2.) So at this point, I usually do share, and if my husband finds it note-worthy, he'll perk up. Other than that, he just enjoys the place in our lives that we are actually experiencing right now. As frustrating and disappointing as this may be, I've learned that it really is a good thing that only one of us is dreaming while the other one keeps his feet on the ground!!!!
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth!
    You have set Your glory above the heavens. {Psalm 8:1}

oh, how sweet little {{Gabriel Patrick, Adelaide Susana, Tobiah Nicholas & Nadia Pearle}} would be!
