Ramona, please! I've started loving it recently, so cute! In my ears, it's warm and spunky and robust (weirdest description ever, yes). But for some reason, I much prefer the nickname Roo to Romy. So...
I really like it (and was pondering it a few weeks ago), but there's the trouble of what to name a second child. What comes next after the highest point? Eclipse? (I only say this in half-jest...
Thanks so much, I really enjoyed your suggestions. Any other names you like, even if you think they're in a different vein? You seem to have great taste. Also, on the subject of feminine variations...
Lila is nice but a little boring. I like that Isis is strong and feminine, without the predictable A ending.

Sorry, I'm not sure if someone already said this, but I LOVE LOVE Lavender in your signature.
It's so calming and always makes me think of the scent of lavender.
I like Lavender Cove. Cove is...
I've really been enjoying Ramona. I love that it's uncommon but familiar and the sound is warm and robust (weird description, I know, but that's what I get from it).
But I've always...

This is a hard one, but I think the name that always comes back is Xanthe. I love how individual it is. Less common than sister names Chloe, Phoebe, and Penelope, but (in my opinion) the most...
Thanks guys, these were really fun to read. Anyone else? I'm sure that Nameberry has a boundless cup of awesome, splendiferous names :)
The other day I started playing Sims 3 again. My female sim gave birth to a girl, and as I prepared to name her suddenly I decided, "Who the hell cares? Let's go all out!"
My name is Skylar.
1. I like my name because it is quite uncommon in my age group (although it's now in the Top 100 lol), yet familiar. I grew up accustomed to hearing people compliment my name...

Maybe it's just me, but neither of those names are even remotely "too out there". While uncommon, they're familiar, and I don't think anyone would find them hard to bear. Please don't let that fear...
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback! I see a lot of your points, especially regarding pronunciation and perceived-pretentiousness. However I still really love the look and sound of the name. Has anyone...
All of the ends in e Greek names that aren't Penelope, Phoebe, and Chloe:
So lately I've really been digging the name Ptolemy. I like it's history and love the sound. After a little digging on the internet, however, I found a post on mumsnet that was quite discouraging. A...
Poll: Which Version?
I really like the name Delphine and it's variations. I especially love it's connection to dolphins and the Oracle of Delphi. However, I'm not sure whether I prefer the sound of the versions that end...
I agree with the above posters. My name is Skylar, and there are a few spellings of that too, and I've been fine. Catherine is a beautiful name. However, I'd like to add if you call her Kate, please...

So many names are like this for me. But right now I can't really think of many. Lol, I'll come back when I have more :P
Juniper, Ianthe, Cyprian, Minta, etc. All so beautiful on paper, but...

I would say my favorite is Damon and Ivy. Something about Ivy sounds more robust, and therefore goes better with the also-robust Damon. It's just such a distinctive name.
As for the Lyla thing,...
I generally want between two and three kids, but lately I've been leaning toward three--two boys and one girl. Oftentimes I put more value on how siblings' names work together than on how much I like...
Before the Baby Wakes: She has a child named Phoenix, a toddler named Caspian, and another boy on the way I think.
Well that was a bit rough. Thanks for the honesty though. I agree that Hero is a name some kids might adore and others might hate, which is why I'm probably going to stay away from it. Thanks anyhow...
Recently I came across some new names but found that there's very little discussion regarding them on the web. So obviously I turned to Nameberry :P
Hero: I love this one, but in...
Thanks for the responses guys! Anyone else have any opinions? Suggestions are always welcome.
Hey guys! So recently I fell in love with Zephyr--the meaning, the sound, the zippy Z :P So I started looking for girls' names that would work well. I came across Paloma, a name which had caught my...

I actually quite like Phoenix, and the alliterative qualities of Phoenix Fitzgerald. I also agree that the city doesn't really come to mind, so if you like it, go for it.
I'd also add, like...
