FYI your instincts are correct. We named our girl Elsa 2 years before the movie came out and get tons of, OH LIKE FROZEN comments. Blah.
Here are other names we considered...
Great, thanks. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't like Lara & Tara... or Lara & Laura...
BTW, my parents totally had a powder blue hard cover samsonite luggage set in the early 80s. Forgot all...
I wish I liked it, but yes, I think "syrup" or a flavor when I hear it. One of my favorite flavors, but still a flavor. And as someone above posted, it also does remind me of Mabel. However if I...
I mean phonetically btw. I know they look different written/typed. :)
Hmmmm, how about
Hazel Matilda Jane
Hazel Beatrix Wren
Hazel Josephine Rose
I'm not very creative...
We have a little Elsa. Would Alice be too close for a little sister? It's the only name that gives me that fluttery feeling currently...

Thanks everyone. And thanks for the suggestions. A lot of the suggestions we considered but rejected bc of personal reasons.
I definitely lean more classic with boys and classic-with-twist...

Little Elsa is almost 3. We still love her name of course, but hoping to find something for her sister/brother that won't be part of Disney's next project. Does anyone have a crystal ball? ;)

My 2.5-year-old is Elsa. I'll be totally honest with you. We get several "Oh, like the Frozen movie!" comments each day. Not just from moms/kids at the park, but everywhere. After one of my...
Would love to hear your first-impression responses on these names...
Elsa is in our top three for baby girl due next week!
However, we haven't been able to agree on a middle name. Some possibilities we've thrown around are:

Thanks! It feels good to know that both names are well-received. :)

It's funny you should say that, as it was our original plan. But then husband brought up a good point...what if we disagree? We don't want to have to fight over our choices in front of the baby ha...

Iris Cordelia or Beatrice Wren
Which one and why?
Yeah, I would normally think that this wouldn't be a big deal at all. But then I've heard people complaining that someone else "stole" their child's name, so I wanted to run it by the group to make...
Emilyr - any reason you lean towards Elsa? Do you just like the sound better? Do you know a mean Beatrice? Some other reason?

Vivian. It's one of my top 5. Josephine is nice, but I'm not big on names that are the feminized version of a male name. (Josephine, Roberta, Michaela, etc.) (That said, I realize that in the...
I think husband and I are down to 2 and we can't decide!
Elsa Wren B_________
Beatrice Wren B__________
I like both, but am looking for any reason to eliminate one.
We may just need to...
Elsa is one of our top 3 picks for baby girl due this winter. However, a good friend of my husband has a 1-year-old Ella. Is this too close? How would you feel if a good friend chose a name that...

I like Ingrid, but some other ideas may be:

I know 2 little Lily's.
However, as the owner of a customized children's business, I would say that Lily/Lillian is quite popular now. I get lots of Lily orders. It's still a very pretty name...
This name was featured in today's blog post.
How do you pronounce it, like "Ah-nook?"
I think I might really like it...it seems adorable for a little girl but also kind of chic for an adult.

Oh, forgot to mention his hesitation with Beatrice. He likes it well enough for a little girl or adult, but says he has a hard time picturing a teenager/20-something with that name. I can kind of...
