Pretentious and trying too hard to be different and original. Just another name that would say, "SEE? MY child is NOT another Aidan or Jacob. SEE?"
It does. Haha. But there are worse names for sure, especially these days. I do feel like this is one of those names that would only work on an American child, regardless.
Thanks for all your input! I'm by no means set in stone about it, but it's on my list now. We'll see if DH likes it.
Nobody is posting to this, so I will. I'm not Jewish, but my husband (David's) adoptive family is. I like a lot of Hebrew names, and many of them have become mainstream. I love Joshua, Aaron, Rachel,...
Those names go perfectly together! I love Edmund.
Tucker Samuel and Lila Elizabeth
OK, great insight. I get the country thing and I get the youthful image. Would you be refreshed or weirded out by a New York boy with this name?

Freya - This is starting to grow on me.
Brighid - Stick with Bridget.
Maeve - Never care for it, sorry!
Lila - This is very cute,
Iris - Not bad.
Rosalie - Cute.
Hayden - Not for a girl....
It makes me think of Trace Adkins, the country singer. It sounds very Southern-trendy to me, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Trace Whitman definitely has an air of dignity, I like it.
As I was going through the new Top 1000, I came across Tucker - a name that I of course knew, but never thought much about or considered before. Name crush is now putting it mildly... What are your...

I love the name, but I can't say in good faith that, if I were you I would use it. You will be living in America, and raising an American child, who will go to American schools most likely. It will...

Operating under the assumption that this poster isn't a troll, I'll say if you MUST use this name, use the regular, real spelling Cohen.
Thanks for you comments. I'm sure it will most definitely help to see the actual baby, and know it is real.
Did you ever think about the idea that, with so so so much choice when it comes to baby names today, it can actually be very difficult to be satisfied with what name is ultimately chosen or...
I hear you. I don't have a problem with people being negative about names, per se, if it's not too disrespectful or unreasonable. That's kind of part of talking about names and why you feel they are...
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your comments. I love it and it has good associations for me. @apollonia, Jack Dawson indeed! But strong and solid is a must these days. It makes me sad to not...

Thomas "Tommy" Calkins
Gwyneth "Gwen" Nora
Will nobody provide some insight on this?...
I used to be so so so into this name, and it was my definitive boys' name choice. I like it for it's laid back understatement, and because it means "son of David." I still like it (a lot), but lately...
