Beatrix Plum was born on November 21st. We are so happy with her! Congrats and good luck to everyone :)
River has been getting more attention lately. I wouldn't even consider it that unusual of a name...at least compared to nature names like Birch or Stormy. I personally favor Rivers over River, but...
I like Violet, Quinn and maybe Marlowe. Peyton and Hadley have too similar of a vibe as a sibset. I would go less mainstream...and probably spunky.
I really like Johanna (even with the j pronunciation). It feels sort of old and wild to me. There is a great Bob Dylan song called 'Visions of Johanna' that might sway you.

I think almost everyone does this. I wanted a girl SO much with my first pregnancy. I even bought girl clothing and painted the nursery lavender before finding out the sex. I didn't feel strongly...

I think it would only matter if it bothers you. I know a several little boys named very similarly to their mothers (one letter off from having the same name).
I am pretty open to unusual names. I have read The Jungle Book, but Mowgli isn't a name I can easily picture being used on a child...it just sounds sort of silly. It might be fun in the middle...

It is exciting to read about all these new and up-and-coming babes. My midwife decided to induce me this Friday (I have cholestasis of pregnancy), but Beatrix may come on her own even earlier. I am a...
I like the suggestion of Sunday nn Sunny (or Wendsday nn Wendy).
My surname rhymes with Nellie.
I am well into my third trimester and still second guessing Beatrix's middle name. I was all set on Plum, but I don't think my husband really cares for it. Beatrix Plum sort of sounds like a...
I like the Grey spelling, but I'm honestly not loving this name. It just sounds depressing, plus brings to mind 50 shades (which I've never read). Grady, Gage, Harrison, or even Tanner (a happier...

I am deeply crushing on the idea of Birdie being a nn for Beatrice.
I really like Fleur, but my husband laughed at me when I told him it was on my list of names for our daughter. Apparently it isn 't very 'down to earth.' The way some people pronounce it isn't...
I'm not a fan of Ryan, as it feels dated and very common, but I do like the astronomy connection. I would like to see this name on a little boy to know just how much I'd swoon.
I have met adults named Cricket, so it isn't too out there for me. Craven is one that I would avoid, as it literally means "lacking courage" or "timid."
I love Arthur with your other children's names. Louis would be a serious contender if you were pronouncing it Loo-is. Loo-ee feels a bit fussy to me.

I really like just Dot, but Peridot and Ottilie are both nice long versions.
Doe, which is similar to Dot, is also an nn option for pretty names like...
This is a big relief. It didn't cross my mind that the cat might not want to be around the baby. He avoids all visiting babies and toddlers, so you guys are probably right. Thank you!
I have always loved cats. However, as I get nearer to having a new baby I am becoming concerned about my indoor / outdoor cat. He is a frisky guy...just the type to crawl into the bassinet or crib...
I don't like Ryan, Dakota or Logan on either gender, as they're dated. I do love the name Max. It would be sweet on a boy or a girl. To the poster with a daughter named Felix...I like the spunkiness....
I think Grace (like Rose) is less expected as a fn. It feels dull in the middle, but nicer in the front. Madelief is an unusual favorite of mine. Grace Madelief is lovely!
I know these are place names, but they bring to mind country music for me:
As a previous poster said, the y in Hyndrix will date the name. The y trend will soon go out of style and everyone who has a random y thrown into their name will be from 'that' era. Hendrix is so...
Zara is a nice mixture of pretty and strong. My second favorite is Evie, which is quite a bit more cutesy than Zara. Ronan and Zara would be my favorite pairing.
