Thank you for your thoughts and all of your suggestions!
@apollonia - thank you! You're right. I do love the name Violet, but I do feel like I'm settling on it. The same thing happened with my...

oiseau - you're absolutely right. If we decided on Audrey or Aurora we'd have to go with a different middle name. Together they sound terrible.
From your list I love Sylvia and Iris. Thanks!
Stellan Atlas is a great name!
From your list I like Ruby and Zinnia (Zia).
What about Iris or Aria as alternatives to Isla?
I also like Cheyenne's suggestion of Valencia. It's such a...

I hope you can help us find a name that we love for our little girl! DH has narrowed my list down to 3 names:
Violet, Audrey, and Aurora. Violet is a top contender of the 3, but...
I love the name Rowan for a boy or a girl. It's one of the few names that I consider truly unisex, as it's hard to assume one gender over the other. That said, I think its only headed upward as a...
Audrey was actually a top contender if my son had been a girl, but it has since been used by a friend. My husband doesn't see a problem with it, but I don't want to look like I'm stealing her...
Beatrice and Eleanor are both great choices, but I prefer Beatrice with middle name Haven.
Thanks for your comments! From your suggestions I like:
Maura/Mara - prefer the streamlined Mara but worry people would say 'mah-ra'; also don't like the demon/devil associations
Thanks for your suggestions! Appreciate your take on Violet too. I keep picturing the blue girl from Willie Wonka, and have trouble erasing that image from my mind. I love Ella, as a nn for Eleanor....
My husband and I agreed on the name Violet if our baby is a girl, but as much as I love the name, it just doesn't feel right for us. I love Violet when I hear it on another child, but I'm realizing...
I love Isabel for its simplicity, strength, and sophistication. Isobel has the same qualities, but the 'o' adds to its boldness. Isabella is a little too girly girl for my taste.
Ooh Seazuno86 - I like Mirabel!
The more i say it, I'm really liking Mara too. Thanks for the suggestions!
I love Elena Kate!
I hate to jump on the celebrity bandwagon, but I've been crushing on Vale since Savannah Guthrie chose it for her daughter. I think it would be really pretty with Elena - Elena...
Thanks, Emsky! I love the suggestion of Mara, I'm just not sure it's substantial enough. Do you think a 2-syllable mn is enough with Violet?
Schickler- Marilyn definitely covers a few relatives!...
I love Violet Emmeline! I may have to steal it:) I prefer the Emma-leen pronunciation though.

My favorite from your list is Brynn. I like its simplicity for a girl, and it's modern without sounding made up. I grew up with siblings Philip and Brynn - classic and modern - and I always thought...
My husband and I have decided on the name Violet for our baby girl, but we can't decide on a middle name. I love vintage names such as Josephine, Eleanor, and Abigail. My husband...

I like Cecilia with Vivienne -Cece and Viv
Also love Emilia - a beautiful Shakespeare name - Mila and Viv. Emilia Plum sounds so pretty to me:)
From your agreed upon list, I like Fiona, Colette,...
I always liked Gigi as a nickname for Bridget.
I came across the same problem with Vivian Ivy! I think Ava Rose is a beautiful name and I don't think anyone would associate it with a porn star. Besides, porn stars use nom de plumes just like...
Congrats! Too bad DH doesn't care for Beatrice, that's my favorite!
More S names:
Sadie- as a given name or nickname for Sarah
