We actually just named our daughter Marlena (born 6/28/14). We pronounce it mar-LAY-na, although when I've spoken to Spanish speakers (my mom is Spanish) I've caught myself pronouncing it...
We named our son Calder for the hockey references and also because we like the artist Alexander Calder. :-)
I think Gretzky could be a cool hockey name too....

My son is named Calder and we pronounce it Call-der. Some other people mispronounce it and call him Colder, which I don't really get, but they struggle (shrug). Even though we don't use the nickname...
I think it's a beautiful name, but it sounds pretty close to the word "areola". (Which would also be a beautiful name, if not for the meaning.) That doesn't mean you should nix it from your list,...
