Cecile. That one's a tongue-twister for me, I don't know why. It's a shame, it looks so darned elegant.

I met a Mavis once, an elegant older woman. Mavis is a great name, I'd like to see Mavis as a fn.
Iris is on the upswing, and it has a trendy feel to it. So it depends upon how popular is too popular for you. Lydia is also quite popular right now.
Aurelia is lovely, and I don't think it sounds...
I'd go for a four-syllable mn to go with the three syllables of Donovan.

When I see Malcolm, I automatically think of the nn 'Mac'.
I'm a huge fan of Cecilia and all its variations.
If I had a daughter named Cecilia, I'd be tempted to use the nn Celia.
