I think Sophie Kate Shepard is adorable.
Kate Shepard was a famous New Zealand suffragette who helped get women the vote and she's on the back of the $10 note. It would be a nice name association!

The popularity certainly doesn't worry me - I'm British but I live in New Zealand and haven't come across either name here so both will probably be relatively unused.
