I love Anwen too! My mother certainly isn't a fan of that one...
I'm from the US, and I'd say "ee-van-thee." (Though that first "ee" is kind of like a "eh" - I said it a few times and it would come out either way) This, however, is only due to the fact that I am...

I've bolded ones I particularly like/recommend:
Endora - I actually rather like this! It reminds me of one of my favorite names, Andorra. I think it's easy to spell, wear, and pronounce,...

Laurence Kipling has a nice ring to it. But I'm not sure how well that goes with Kellen. Depends on how you feel about sibsets.

Violet - A brown haired girl wearing purple; soft spoken and kind (I also think of Violet Alden from The Boxcar Children)
Eloise - Blue-eyed girl not yet over her baby fat; spunky and cranky (Think...
No one's yet suggested Natalie - although "Nattie" would be more phonetically correct, "Nettie" could work just fine.
I just started a new blog, and I've dubbed Fridays "First Name Fridays" so I can cater to my namenerd tendencies :) Right now, I'm going through my old lists one name at a time and...

@lawsonhaley - When I think Doris, I think of one of my grandmother's unseen friends (she has a lot of friends I've never seen or I mix up with each other - Leah, Doris, Irene, etc.) so I find that...

Is it the sound? The origin? The "genre" (old lady, saint name, etc.)? While all these are important factors in choosing a name, what is the absolute number one criterion for you?
For me, it's...
I've bolded the ones I particularly like.
Dafna Jane - I see and hear "daft," but if you don't live in England, that shouldn't be a huge problem
Livna Jane - I keep wanting to say "Livia," but...

I don't usually get my name misspelled, so I can't really relate.
I have started something fun, though - give the cashier at coffee places, etc. a name on your top ten for your order. See how...
I don't think Alair looks misspelt; I think people might pause and ask spelling, though (ie, Allair or Alare...) but you'll get that on any unusual name.
Personally, I think Alastair or Alaric, so...
Edna Josephine sounds great to me!
I love Ronan too! Some of my other favorites are Josiah, Lewis, and Maxwell, and even though those don't sound too much like Ronan, I think the might be the popularity you're looking for.
I voted Lucy as I think it's the name on your list that ages the best.
I voted Isaiah because of its strong biblical ties, yet it has a touch of feminine softness that makes it a very versatile name.
Azariah comes in second, only because I don't picture an strong,...
I can see why it might be used for girls, but personally, I think surname names should stay with the boys. Parker, Sawyer, Elliott - to me, they're all masculine. Surnames tend to have more...

No one's mentioned Philippa yet, and with double P's I think that could work for Poppy.
There's also Persephone for Posey, though Percy is the default, it could work. Kind of like Kitty for...
Gregory Emrys and Matilda Tanner

Looks like the votes are still coming in!
Olivia vs Lily - Olivia is more wearable as an adult, I feel, though I do like the childish lilt of Lily. Still, I prefer Olivia.
Penelope vs Melanie -...
Haha, I just watched that episode! That really stuck? Wow. I bet the person who writes that show is a total namenerd! :)
James Wilfred (Season 1/servants)
Penelope Harriet (Violet/William)
Caleb Abraham Jeremiah (Branson/Anna Bates plus Daisy and William)
Willow Francesca (Branson/Female)
I rather like Simon Leo on its own, but with your last name, it might be a bit of a tongue twister. Simon Arlo is next since it has the same two-syllable, "o" ending charm. Simon Miles is too "M"...
I know, isn't Derek Jacobi just adorable in that show? :) One of the reasons I keep watching.
I realize I forgot to say what I thought of the names - I like the "Rose" names and "Traditional...
So on this show I'm watching, Last Tango in Halifax, two characters start gushing about names for her future daughter. And so, being a name nerd, I thought I'd post it. :) Here 'tis (with the...
