I love Thisalee from World of Warcraft. She's a feral druid; her full name is Thisalee Crow. She's awesome.

I agree. Just because a name is or was popular doesn't mean it's not a great name. I've made the case for Jennifer several times in various threads; I think it's a lovely name with a rich history...

I saw this article on xoJane today and thought it was one that Berries would appreciate; it's a response to a pseudo-scientific study.

I definitely prefer "Hailey" to "Haley" and "Gryffin" to "Gryphon." I think the extra "i" in "Hailey" makes the name look cleaner/fresher than the original spelling. "Gryffin" would be for...

Another vote for Cosima here! I fell in love with it after hearing it on Orphan Black; it's such a beautiful name!
I just want to caution you that there is an "adult" actress named Mi@ R0se. I know this because she plays World of Warcraft, and her films have a WoW role-playing theme, and she is very well-known in...

I also got Exotic Traditional. My favorite line from the description: "You probably think Tryndee names are the craptastic products of an inane hive mind."

Well, I'm probably too lowborn for someone like her. But, as we say around these parts: "An ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure."
I think it's that they take a name like Mason (or Aiden) and like the sound, but want to be "yewneahk" and still not too daring, so they just swap out the initial letters until they find something...

I also prefer Matilda, but I LOVE Clothilde. I knew a girl with this name once. She was from a rural Southern town and no one had trouble pronouncing it. I always thought it was so lovely!

This was harder than I thought it would be! The bolded names in each set are my favorites of that set, and the italicizes names are the runners-up.

I am loving Cosima right now, so that gets my vote! I thinks it's lovely. I like Cosima Alair the most, but Cosima Noor is lovely as well. Congratulations!
1. That would be a fun change. I think one of the best companions was Jamie, who was from medieval Scotland, I believe, and male. It could be fun to have an ensemble again...
I think the Mary Sue bit is lulling us into a false sense of security. Something is up with this one. Something sketchy. I don't think she's like Amy, though. I think she's pretty timid in...
There is also Maude, which is the nn of Empress Matilda, daughter of King Henry I.

Oh, genevie got some of my favorites: Mamie, Sosie, Phoebe, and Daphne. I think I would probably rule out the names of friends, too.
I like Matea and Lucia with Zara.

I think my definition of free-spirited would be similar to ottilie's, but with a good measure of whimsy, imagination, and creativity added in for good measure.
I see a Jonathan. :)
