I do find made-up meanings really irritating, though. If it's actually made up then I would be...

I was thinking recently and to anyone with unusual name, or anyone who knows somebody with an unusual name, or just if you have any ideas about this: if you had a unique name, would you be more or...
Vesper. She hates Vesper a lot. She likes sweet, pretty names that are preferably of Indian origin. I find some of them really pretty, but those are mostly taken by people in the family, which is...
What are some really gutsy, adventurous, strong names you can think of for both boys and girls? I've come up with a few but am curious to know what everyone else thinks of as bold. Any thoughts are...
I am of Indian origin and I can't use India myself because of that, but that said I do think it's pretty. It's very nice and other place names are used so I think it's okay. If I could have used it,...

Blue Amoret or Milo Thornton Hart
I went to an independent (private), co-ed school starting at age 8. I wouldn't homeschool personally, because how would I, despite my education, provide a complete education for a child? I don't...

Well...maybe. ;) Normally I find a lot of young adult fiction unbearable but I have to say I enjoyed this one, and, well, its names. :)

In no particular order as I'd have a terrible time picking any one over the others:

I love Cabot Wolfgang York, which feels very official and handsome, and Thisbe Madeline Bloom, which is absolutely GORGEOUS and I think Thisbe is adorable! Liberty Madeline Hart is very nice, though,...

Urd...how interesting. That's very cool.
Generally, I find country names a bit odd. There aren't very many that people use regularly, and I would say Ethiopia is on the far rarer end (where ones...

That's interesting! A friend of my parents' from India is called Subhashi. :)
Darcy Rose feels very overdone. Twyla is far more uncommon and so Twyla Rose is nice, and Twyla Willow is far too many L's. I like Darcy Willow, that's absolutely gorgeous. Those two get my vote!

So the other day, I was looking back through all of my albums from my childhood. I came across a few pictures of me and my best friend from nursery, named Ruhamah. Back then, I didn't question names,...
