Bay's middle is McConnell (family name). I didn't mean for it to sound like Pippa Middleton is a bad association or anything, just that it doesn't seem special enough now since so many people have...

Interesting replies, thank you all. My daughter is fair-skinned (but tans in the summer) with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He has brown hair and darker hazel eyes and I am blonde/ fair/ blue-eyed...
I'm INTJ. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to it, too, because some of the things I see on there from other INTJs are just spot on. I forget but I think my husband is ENFP. In any case,...

My husband has suggested then "never mind"-ed Millicent based on what he considers to be a less than ideal fit for what any future biological daughters will probably look like (yes, I'm amazed he can...

Theodore? Classic but Theo is pretty on-trend so maybe that will appeal to his taste?

It sounds dated and is a little too country for me. I love Callum, though, and Julianne is very pretty.
I would just expose the dog to kids from the beginning. Honestly, by the time your baby is old enough to interact with the dog, the dog should be used to him/ her or it should give you enough time to...
We have 3 dogs. 2 are adopted and 1 was not as my husband didn't know about pet adoption at the time. They all happen to be purebred, though it was purely coincidental with the 2 I rescued/ found. We...

Kadybug, I really loved Philippa for years but the Pippa Middleton thing turns me off now. Such a gorgeous name. The nickname Zippy is precious, too!

Thank you all, I will run these by my husband. Neither of us loves Lillian the most, I just really like it in combination with James because I was very close to my great-grandparents growing up. The...

Alice Louise for sure. I think Breanna is a very different style from your boys' names anyway. Alice is timeless.

Thank you both!
It's weird because I do love some names that are super feminine but also nature/ word names and then also feminizations of masculine names. We're between Marguerite (his favorite...
Nellie or Poppy for sure :)

We're kind of between 2 or 3 girl names but I'm always open to others. My 3yo daughter is Bayard -we call her Bay- so if you have suggestions to add to the list, I'd love to see any and all. Thanks!...

Just saw this- I'm due January 13 :) We don't know the sex, though.

I think you can definitely use Alice without a nickname. I don't think that many people would try to call her Ali. I love Alice but Louisa is right up there, too. They're both on my list as well. Lou...

I voted for Ada but I would also recommend Adele and Elsie. I think all of the others are common enough now that they have lost the 'vintage' feel if that's what you're looking for.

Tova/ Tovah is my top pick.
Also like Yael and Lior.
Others I like but are longer:
Ruth nn Ruthie

Pronounced rose-uh-line and Talmadge is a family name

Thank you all, I knew I wasn't crazy! Ultimately I think any child should feel free to choose his/ her own name, which is why I prefer formal names with options for nicknames. One thing I like about...

If we have another girl, my husband is set on Marguerite. It's not my favorite but I like a lot of the nickname options so I thought that would be the perfect compromise. Well, he has this rule where...

I do sometimes fantasize about renaming everyone I know, but more so with adults. My sister is Mary (she doesn't like it) and while I don't hate her name, I started calling her Mamie once my daughter...
I second Nameweary and Larkub101's ideas!
Also maybe a post on names with unexpected or surprising (controversial?) associations? I wondered about that a while back when I asked about the name...

Oh I just came up with Theodora Lowe. Not sure if it's too weird but it still has a hint of Marlowe.
