We are getting a British Blue kitten in May and I want to have a list of names ready to go. We don't yet know if we are getting a male or a female, so I need suggestions for both!
Here is what a...
From one mum of a Jarvis to another, congratulations and nice choice of name :)

Just to add, we may have a baby Jarvis, but my husband really wanted Wolfgang (Wolfie) and I wanted Rupert or Reuben, initially.
I like Jarvis better than either of those two now, but maybe they...

Beatrix was one of my top girl names and obviously I could never have used it, having a Felix :( I also loved Theodora for a girl but couldn't have had that either if the third was a girl. I was so...

I love the three names together and adore Jarvis - after all, I have a little 4 month old Jarvis!
We chose it knowing full well that it wasn't going to be a crowd pleaser like Thomas or Oliver....

We did too and found an absolute underused gem in Jarvis - he suits it to a tee!
Rupert was my top contender for our third son but my husband hated it because of the bear and Rupert Murdoch. We went with Jarvis instead :)
We had a baby boy this year and named him Jarvis. Jasper has become so endemically popular around here - I know fifteen of them. Like me, those who like Jasper tend to like Jarvis and it's a much...

I totally think you should use Marlon - it's not at all the same as Marvin!
Forgot to say i also like Grover - I know four brothers called Oscar, Jasper, Felix and Grover!
Whatever you do, don't lick another name with X in it - it'd be X overload.

I'm Australian and I think it's unisex even though I only know one of each.

Not at all because my husband is Edward and it's a name that around for hundreds of years before Twilight. Go for it, because so many people have not used it because of Twilight. It is indeed classy!

My cousin has a baby boy called Ellis - definitely masculine
I think it has definite charm!
I have a Felix and know of three other Felixes who have brothers called Jasper - it seems to be the go-to name for anyone who likes Felix so we looked further afield. For our third boy we went with...

I find it very dated - was surprised to see it used by a friend recently for her newborn.
Natalia is sublime, however.
Hehe I know! I'm so lucky that the older ones already spoil me silly :)
Thanks for your lovely well wishes and kind words about his name. We love it too and it was hard won.
DH's first choice...
We are so smitten it's crazy, just so so blessed with our amazing boys.
I'm so proud to announce the arrival of baby Jarvis Christopher, born on 12.3.13, brother to Felix and Theodore.
Just wanted to drop in and say we named our newborn son Jarvis last week and each day we love it even more.
Love your style!
If Jarvis had been female, he would have been Ursula, Paloma or...
A lass I know who swore blind she adored old-fashioned names and in particular, those of my boys, ended up naming her daughter Paige.
I just couldn't fathom it. Her kid, not mine.

Our strong but cool name is Jarvis, for our new boy due in 2 weeks.
It is seriously so nice to Jarvis on that list of lovely names :) I'm so tired of trawling the net and only finding it on 'Country & Western' style lists. It our name for our new son, soon to be born...
I either say:
1) Yes but we're not sharing until baby's born - we want to make sure he or she looks like the name first.
2) No idea yet.
Don't feel pressured, I find people accept the first...
