I initially read it as a misspelling of "Arthur." After thinking about it, I wonder if it's a invented "smoosh" type name, like a cross between Anthony and Arthur.
I think that's a good choice -- as a middle, there's less concern about mispronunciation.
I also would pronounce it like Oberon, but I suspect the average (American, at least) would be likely to...

Just wanted to pop in to say that I also don't think it's "forcing" religion on a kid to give them a religiously-related name, any more than it's "forcing" religion on a kid to take them to church...
