Thanks everyone for your opinions! We're 90% certain on Ruby Cate now.
I say Ruby all the way. But then I'm partial (I'm due with a "Ruby" this week!). Ava is pretty but too popular for my taste. I think Ruby works for young and old (although Ava does as well).
Adelyn is the more contemporary name but I do think its the spelling for the name you're looking for. Adelyn is more trendy and current and Adeline sounds a bit harsh. I love Adelaide.
