I've been following with interest. That's wonderful that you found the right answer and she's gaining weight.

Andromeda, oh Andromeda! For all the wonderful nicknames. Think of being able, as you grow up, to be a plain Ann or spunky Andi or slightly mysterious Romy. It's just all goodness right there.
My husband is 47; his name is Richard. I'm 48. Thinking back to school and among our current friends, some names are Murray, Scott, Bryan, Terry, Warren, Reggie, Lowell, Leslie, Lindsay, Kirk,...

I too would have preferred Rose or Marigold. I don't really like any of these very well, except Lily.

These word names are from Africa, from the Chichewa language. They are unisex.

You keep coming back to this name; it seems like it's your favourite. I don't see anything to dislike about the name itself. As a mom of a toddler who gets called Rosie, I can tell you that Rosie is...

I know Maxine haa been suggested but I don't know if it's been vetoed. It seems like it would bridge the gap between your other daughters' names. And how cute is Maxi as a nn!?

Jacqueline- I agree with your husband
Nikita, Nikolina- I like the sound of these (my son is Nicholas) but the Nik- sound seems too outdated, as in 10-20 years ago
Verena, Sakura, Vashti- not quite...

So very very many names have been suggested, I can't remember if these have been or not.
I'm 48 with foster daughters age 2.5 and 3.5. So far I haven't been asked if I'm their grandmother, perhaps because we're different races. There are so many children in foster care in my province...
Sapphire is my foster daughter's name, chosen by her bio parents. I think it's beautiful! Somehow it doesn't seem very strange, maybe since it's a word people know and it has the same consonant...
Oh saracita, I'm always eager to see your latest ideas for naming your children!
I thought this was a misspelling of Isolde when I read it. I personally think its a bit bland for you.
I think this is a great idea for a middle name. I've met people who have done this kind of thing and it was a great connection to a meaningful time in their lives.
I'll have to remember this one next time I make an angel food cake and have egg yolks to use up.
I weaned my oldest at 12 months and regretted it. So I let my other three self wean, that is, I stopped breastfeeding when they seemed to lose interest. For all three of them, it was 19 months. Once...

Although I don't post much, I always enjoyed reading her comments and had noticed she wasn't posting any more. My heart is sad for her poor motherless child.
Please add my name - Triss.
I wouldn't do it myself. I would probably laugh (not nicely!) if I heard a sibset with it, unless there were so many children it was nearly unnoticeable. For example, children #2 and #8 out of 10....
That's amazing! And beautiful. I would love to be there to see that.

I have a foster daughter with a 3-syllable Ros- name. She almost two years old and we mostly call her Rosie. I have to say, it's totally adorable! I can easily see her being Rose in a few years....
Yes, that's what I meant- they had either never heard of it (therefore didn't assume a gender) or they knew it as s boy's name. Now everyone HAS heard of it- as a boy's name. I guess I wasn't clear...
My name is Tristan; I'm a woman nearing 50 years of age. My mother saw it on a little girl in a magazine and loved it. When I was a child, few people had heard of it, or they said "As in Tristan and...
Certainly it's a major loss, it's understandable to mourn not having living children. And you feel cheated; you don't get to daily talk to/about your own well-named children. Excuse my awkwardness,...
