Haha, yep. I like Rex too! Dh says no. What about Auggie as a nn for August?
Breaking: husband is open to Flynn.
Thanks for all the great replies! It's given me a lot to think about, though I don't know if I'm leaning either way now. I think at this rate he'll end up Abram just because my husband likes that one...
Sure! Her name is Eliza, and our last name is 1 syllable, starts with S.
We have plenty of time to decide, but this is one of the first serious this/that situation dh and I have come to in the boy name hunt.
He is set on Abram, nn Abe. Maybe nn Bram, but Abe is a...

Thank you all for the thoughtful replies so far. I'm liking:

I was all prepared to name girl #2 when I've just discovered it's going to be a boy. I feel that I've scoured nameberry and have managed to come up with a handful of names I deem to be "meh, ok if I...
Ooh, I just checked and saw more responses!
Thank you all - and I'm happy to see some positive responses.
@jonix - I think you have a great point about pairing it with something a little...
Thanks for everyone's feedback!
I get the point about mixing the Scandinavian with Greek - I just don't know if it really bothers me. Our last name is vaguely Polish and we have a very diverse...
Thanks for the feedback so far- it's definitely given me a lot to think about!
hi all! I'm just spending my day off mulling over names for a second daughter if I'm ever lucky enough to have one. Our first is Eliza- June.
I think we are decided on Ingrid as a Fn. I tend to...

Real Southern Belles - and I know a'plenty - are usually going to have a family name surname either in the first or middle spot. You find a lot of: Berry, Smith, Evans, Hollis, Sloane, Blair etc....

Oh my! So many good names to think about -
I guess I should have said that E's middle name is June, which I adore... maybe more than her first name, but it just didn't work with our last name.

Thank you for all your responses! Almost all of these fall right in my "style" zone, though I've never really fallen in love with any. For some reason, Ivy has never really been a name I gravitated...

I did it to myself - I named my 9 year old dog Ruby. And now, thinking about a sister for Eliza, I realize how much it's the perfect name. It's vintage, but spunky. Not too serious sounding, but not...
Thanks for all the great suggestions so far! I had a busy day at work so I'm just now getting to look them over. Some that caught my eye:
... Gosh I feel like there were...
Why hello there berries! It's been awhile :)
We are starting ttc for Berry number two, so of course I'm starting to think names. I would love to get a preliminary list together for a sister for...
Lol, I'm pretty much in agreement at the tone of the board is much different than it used to be three years or so ago. Now whenever I see a post that's about a non-"Nameberry" name, I just skip it...

Uhg yes. We just officially decided on a name, and I've been stressing for weeks because I get daily texts, emails, and phone calls suggesting family names. Personally, I find my family's obsession...

Hmm, I would think that, in America anyway, Jemima would be more widely offensive than Dixie. Because Jemima has a singular, strong cultural association and racial stereotype, whereas Dixie has a...
I like it :) It's my husband's first choice for our soon to be born baby, but I never fell 100% in love with it. I agree that even though it's a feminine name, it sounds a little old and not that...
Lol thanks for the reply! It's pretty much what I've been thinking all day. I do like Ruth (I already used Ruby on my dog) and I love June. They all have the same sound to me that is appealing. I...

Yep, as a Kristen I just give up on people saying my name right. Forget spelling. My best friend for 15 years - her mom STILL calls me Krystal. My grandmother in law doesn't even bother to try. She...
Oh wow, it's been 50-50 all day. I'm fighting baby name fatigue today for sure. Twice I had to stop myself from just telling my husband to name her whatever he wants.
I prefer Madeleine with Amelia :)
Poll: Eliza middle name poll
Uhhg, Sorry it's me again with the never-ending name drama.
I'm getting so much pressure from my family to get a name for this baby. They are big on monogramming things, and I swear I get a phone...
