Since my name is Victoria, I get a lot of "Do you go by Vicky?", even though I always introduce myself as Victoria. When I tell them I don't, most people just stick with calling me Victoria, though...
I go to school with a girl named Syara (she uses the sigh-ra pronunciation), and I've always liked her name.
The one Thea I know pronounces it as Tay-uh.
